Modern glam/hair/sleaze/hard rock/metal pt.2
A follow-up of THIS post - even more bands for everyone who wish they lived in the 80s. Make sure you show your support for the bands that you like, this is how we can keep the spirit of rock n roll alive! Enjoy!
Wildstreet – american band from NYC, music is very much about the whole »sex, drugs and rock'n’roll« life, not very aggressive, they were on a hiatus for a while but they’ve returned back to action recently and are releasing new material
Lipz – hard rock band from Stockholm, Sweden, they released their debut album in 2018 which is imo really good, especially for their first effort so I highly recommend you to keep them on your radar
Salems Lott – an american shock metal band from Los Angeles, I highly reccomend you to check out the video I linked if not for any other reason than to marvel at how their hair defies gravity lmao. But yeah, their music is also good, the whole appearance vs sound thing kinda reminds me of how I first felt about Twisted Sister lmao
Crucified Barbara – swedish all-women band that is about as old as Hardcore Superstar so they kinda helped shape the early 2000 glam scene. unfortunately they broke up in 2016 but they left behind a plenty material and especially their last album is amazing and legit if you’re a woman or anything close you’ve got to listen to them because they get it
Trench Dogs – swedish rock'n'rollers, I get kinda Hanoi Rocks vibe from them, they released their first full-length album in 2018 and they’re plenty active, trying to tour as much as they can, imo another very promising band
H. E. A. T. - another swedish band, hard rock, they have already released a lot of material and are preparing a new album so there’s no sign of stopping just yet
Shiraz Lane – finnish rock band, pretty young but very good and surprisingly mature, again on the softer side of the spectrum, their singer has an amazing range and gives me a bit of a Led Zeppelin vibe, their lyrics are also worth paying attention to as they tackle some more serious themes
Blackrain – a french rock band that’s been around for quite a while, taking inspiration from bands like GnR, W.A.S.P, Mötley Crüe etc. and in a similar vein as Crashdiet or Hardcore Superstar
Loud ‘n’ Nasty – another swedish 80s revival band, criminally underrated and unknown imo, of all the listed bands they probably capture the original spirit of 80s rock the best just give them a try, you won’t regret it i swear
Confess – swedish hard rockers, very high energy and a bit heavier than some of the bands from the list, perfect to get hyped up but they’re capable of mellowing down too, I’m pretty sure they’re one of my fave discoveries in this post
Again, if you know more bands that fit in this category and are not listed in either this or linked post please add them below!
Reblogs are very much appreciated so as many people as possible can find out about all these overlooked bands! Cheers!
