Both versions of Narcissus’s conception involve rape, no wonder he’s averse to sex and romance.
i’m sorry but a large part of me loves oriana
Narcissus' storyline about his unwanted suitors is a lot darker when you learn that his mother, the naiad Liriope, was assaulted by his father, the river-god Cephissus 😬
I’ve seen several people claim that Narcissus had never seen his own reflection before the famous “incident,” and that his mother hid all mirrors from him because of the prophecy Tiresias gave about his fate. I’m mostly familiar with Ovid’s version of the myth, where the prophecy is mentioned, but I don’t recall any reference to Narcissus being actively prevented from seeing his reflection. If such a detail is present, I may have missed it. Is this idea the result of an overly literal or modern interpretation of the story, or does it come from a source I’m unfamiliar with?
oriana x liriope (locke and oaks mom) hc that they had an unrequited love, one where oriana was willing to do everything for liri and her happiness- but had to watch as she fell in love with lockes father and toyed around with the high king and dain, leading to her eventual downfall 😭
even holly black said it herself in these annotations 😭 “when [liriope] was alive oriana liked to laugh more too.”
Devastating. do not contact me 🥀💔
Just got my commission from skl00n and I love her so very very much

Ideal for growing at the edge of a path Liriope muscari (big blue lilyturf) is an evergreen, tuberous perennial forming a dense clump of arching, leathery, dark green leaves. The upright spikes of small, violet-purple flowers appear in autumn, followed by black berries.
