Just gonna leave this here...
as someone who consumes most media, including Bridgerton, through wikipedia dives, tumblr posts, and youtube clips instead of actually watching it, take what i say with a grain of salt but...
everyone talks about Michaela from Bridgerton like she "replaced" Michael. and they'll say shit like "bring back Michael1!1!!" and even people who support it will be like "I like Michaela but I'll miss Michael :("
and like... no????
Michaela didn't replace anyone. She's an adaptation of Michael. She's literally Michael. Michael is there. He just happens to be a woman now. It's not rocket science
that's like if Monster High fans aid "bring back Frankie" because the g3 version of Frankie happens to be nonbinary, and treated them like a fundamentally different concept instead of a different iteration of the same character
it'd be one thing if people were saying that they "wished they didn't change Michael's gender" but the language they use with Michaela indicates that they perceive male and female as like, different species, so alien and disparate that there's no room for crossover, to the point that they cannot wrap their heads around the fact that they're two versions of the same character concept
US Book ban on LGBTQIA books
The nationwide book ban bill, HR 7661, has progressed out of committee and into the House. Here's what you need to know to take action.
At least hit the shiny repost button if you're going to do nothing else. This should not stand.
Stop the bill dead in its tracks. LGBTQIA people have a right to be represented in books.
some old cinderella concepts from last year, probably won't do anything with them
Shocked no one has done Elphaba as Hecate before, so I did!
Hades Family Tree Facts - Part 2
Part 1
A fun fact: Merope is one of the Pleiades stars. There used to be 7 Pleiades stars, but the Merope star faded so now there are 6th. Greek mythology interpreted this as Merope choosing to become mortal in order to wed Sisyphus, hence why her star has faded.
It's worse...
Pyrrha is the daughter of Pandora and Epimetheus, and she's married to her first-cousin Deucalion, son of Prometheus.

i feel like EAH should've explored the idea that older variants of fairytales are considered the "ancestors" to the current gen.
Then you could reference how in many Snow White variants, including the original Grimm, the Evil Queen is Snow White's biological mother, not stepmother
you could have Apple having to confront the fact that she's pushing Raven into a destiny her own family once suffered: Snow Whites having to abandon their happily ever afters and be forcibly turned into Evil Queens and try to kill their daughters
ok those memes about Cynthia Erivo being "overprotective" of Ariana Grande are genuinely getting really racist actually
someone should draw elphaba as hecate from hades I think
Hades Family Tree Facts - Part 1!
bonus
Part 2
Narcissus' storyline about his unwanted suitors is a lot darker when you learn that his mother, the naiad Liriope, was assaulted by his father, the river-god Cephissus 😬
