I visit Listverse a lot and it's range of topics and interests covers so much. But trust me there are some articles that do not know what they're talking about and show a bias beyond control...or ignorance.

HOW IS THIS SO HARD FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND?!?!!?!?!?
ALSO STOP CREDITING IT TO TIM BURTON! TIM BURTON WAS JUST THERE. THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT A TIM BURTON MOVIE
NEITHER IS BEETLEJUICE BY THE WAY!! Just because it was made into a cartoon doesn't make it a kid's movie, right Rambo and Robocop? You saw it as a kid; it's not a kids/family film when there's blatant sex and swearing everywhere.
This shit here is why I created my iceberg for traumatizing animated films I'm so tired of people mistaking moments of childhood trauma and movies they weren't supposed to watch for "horrific kids content".

Coraline
The Black Cauldron (Disney tried but it could never be completely for adults)
Scooby Doo on Zombie Island
Alice (Listverse writers have mentioned that one before though)
All Dogs go to Heaven (the main character faaking dies. TWICE!!!)
Poltergeist. (Rewatch Poltergeist sometime. That really is a horror film for the whole family and one of the best films to break you into the genre. Beetlejuice may be watchable for kids but Poltergeist is actually made for them...and to terrify them)
Gremlins.
I haven't seen either in years but Neverending Story or Dark Crystal.
