To say I improved (in just this year alone let alone the last two) would be kind of an understatement XD I just sent this comparison to a friend of mine and decided I wanted to share it here too hehe
I still love the first two pieces, specifically for the milestones they represent but - aoeihfoaiho gah - I'm so emotional about it. Art is all I've ever wanted to do. I'm so glad I never gave up on it. I still can't believe I drew that last piece. It's been such a long road getting here you guys aoihaoiwoij okay that's all I really just wanted to share bc I'm feeling sappy and proud.
#plus your lineart!!!!M!M uuugh #how can you make it so clean and.. direct? *^*
@apfelcolour
I used a brush that somebody made and then I make bunch of layers for some of my stroke (like hair will be on a separate layer from clothes as an example.) then I duplicate the folder, clean up the stray lines, merge the folder, and then add details on the final lineart. MAIN THINGS TO CONSIDER: quick strokes, slow strokes will become wobbly and inconsistent and add weight to your lines, don’t make it all the same thickness!
Just play around with your brushes and see what works for you! I think you got a good lineart going ‘cause of the type of coloring you do, but it’s always good to experiment! I always experiment with my lineart and coloring so in a few months I will probably be using a completely different brush to do my lineart.

The coffee grows cold by the time he wakes up, and he heats it up in the microwave as he rummages through the pantry for a box of corn puffs. He sits. His gray dress shirt is unbuttoned, his tie lying already tied against the table next to the lukewarm mug.
She descends down the stairs in a light blouse and skirt. He briefly looks her over, and taps his phone on. She fixes tea for herself, watching as some loose bits of herb drift free from the seeping bag and float up at the surface.
She sits opposite to him, and pulls the newspaper over the tabletop, flipping the pages open, halting briefly on the personal ads before checking for any new job postings. She recognizes a couple from the paper last week, some that she'd already crossed out in red on the last one.
