I love Victorian Literature, therefore I buy Victorian Literature. Then, I buy scholarly books arguing it is for the sake of research and then continue to buy more thinking that more will continue to shape my understanding of Victorian Literature.
I still love it.
And I am still buying books.

Hate how women will bend over backwards to excuse sexism in media they like. Like, I just saw a video of someone recommending Japanese fiction novels for people who like Marukami but hate how he writes women, and literally one of the first comments was like "Marukami's writing is just on another level, everything is there for a reason and everything means something. No one else could ever write like him, and maybe his books just aren't for you." (Paraphrased)

I’m reading Small g: A Summer Idyll by Patricia Highsmith and I keep picturing the main character, Rickie, like Ron Perlman from 20 years ago (except a bit more attractive)...and I have absolutely no idea what to do with that since I don’t think he would fit the character at all...
Friend: what do you want to do while you're up here in New England?
Me: how far away is walden pond?
Friend: not to far!
Me: ... or maybe sleepy hollow?
i live next to the medical school campus, so whenever i come to study in their library rather than going to the humanities one, i’m terrified someone is going to look over my shoulder and be like “SHE KEEPS USING THE WORDS ‘SUBVERSION’ AND ‘PERFORMATIVITY’ SHE IS NOT ONE OF US”
The Lonely Londoners more like how many times can you refer to a woman as a "nice piece of skin" before you need to mix in other descriptions
I made the unfortunate mistake of forgetting that I get very emotionally attached to exceptional writing, but long story short, I'm up way too late because of amazing fanfics. I still haven't done my set reading for tomorrow's lecture.
