The Trash That Outlives the Bug
Insects are disappearing. Plastic is not. Dutch artist Henk Loorbach noticed this grim trade-off and did something quietly devastating with it: he started building bugs from the stuff that’s replacing them. His series Litterbugs transforms beachcombed bottle caps, fishing line, and stray straws into fragile, eerily convincing insect sculptures. The pieces don’t try to hide what they’re made…
Not me realizing that the reason why poop seems to be a recurring thing with the Litterbugs is because they're giant demon flies and flies eat poop...
(maybe that's why it says "full of poop" next to Chainport on the road sign; it's in order to lure them there so Ken can use them for food)
Wait, are we just leaving our empty beer cans on the roof of this building?
Okay I know like the fly litterbug people are most likely just npc background characters that’re supposed to be creeping in the background, but what if one of them becomes important later??
Like background characters are all basically boring, basic, copies of each other; that’s the point of being an npc background character. But I long for a day when a boring, basic, copy actually becomes relevant to a plot beyond a random line in one scene and then never again. Plus they got all them eyeballs in their… eyeballs… they could be spies or make great spies for the main characters or something.
Realistically speaking, we're not going to be able to hunt down every litterbug and clean up after themselves. If we want a park, a roadside, or wherever else to not be covered in litter, someone is going to have to clean up someone else's mess.
This is true of many other problems as well. If we want a better result, we can't wait around for the exact guilty party to be brought back to fix what they broke.
Running errands and end up walking behind somebody who throws trash. I yell at him to pick it up. He picked it up. Followed because I’m walking the same way and he tosses it again! But this time lets it fall in front of the cart he’s pulling. He hopes I don’t notice. I pick it up and throw it at him while yelling at him, dressing him down loudly.
There’s a trashcan not 50 feet away from us. I swear to unGod we need to start cleaning up this world by trashing stupid shitty trashy people. I feel like a good 30% of the world population (a large portion of human stupidity) did not exist, we’d be in a better place. Goddamn people who litter and trash our neighborhoods. Goddamn them to whatever fucking hell they believe in
Every piece of rubbish that is taken away to be recycled or deposited in a landfill means there is one less dangerous item for birds, turtles or whales to swallow. Cleanups also restore these creatures our habitats and help restore beauty to our surroundings. Litter pick activities are refreshing and serve to educate and inspire locals, visitors and even volunteers to bin their rubbish as well as reducing usage of plastic. More crucially, litter picking is a great team activity and does more than it’s best to spread the word to others. #littlelitterleague #litterleague #thewanderinglondoner #litterpickers #litterbugs #litterrobot #rubbishclearance #trashgang #trashcollection #recycle #trashfree #waste #pickitup #consumerism #plasticbagban #plasticpollution #wastemanagement #zeroplastico #menosémais #tempestade #conservação #eco #ecologia #preservação #poluição #plasticpollution #natureza #minimalista #lixo #consciência #consumoconsciente (at Dagenham, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CascDxqtXhp/?utm_medium=tumblr
