Dear Mr. Trump and the "YES" Voters of the House of Representatives, I thought it would be a nice gesture to share with you the musings of one of your American citizens. I am a woman whose grandfathers both fought for this country in World War II; one of whom was a POW/MIA. He was also shot. This is NOT what he would want for his country; a country that accepted him at 16 years old in Ellis Island, straight from Italy. That being said, I feel moved to write about this impending healthcare plan; the plan passed by the House that's headed to our Senate very shortly to be voted upon for passage or denial. Today, I saw a frightening list of pre-existing conditions. I posted that list earlier. It was NOT all-inclusive, which is the even more terrifying part. It must be noted that today, rape, injuries suffered from domestic violence, sexual assault, and more became known as "pre-existing conditions." Donald Trump and those who voted to pass this bill very CLEARLY do not support women. Do you not believe me? Pregnancy, Caesarean sections, and other female-related issues are listed, too. A clause of this bill states the following: "States could apply for waivers that allow insurance companies in their states to do three things: 1) Charge older people more than five times what they charge young people for the same policy; 2) Eliminate required coverage, called essential health benefits including maternity care, mental health and prescription drugs, required under the Affordable Care Act; and 3) Charge more or deny coverage to people who have pre-existing health conditions, such as cancer, diabetes or arthritis." I, myself, have seven of those LISTED pre-existing conditions. I spoke with someone today who has nineteen. Nineteen. Let's make it personal, Donald, because that is exactly what this bill is: personal. I'm not a celebrity. I'm not famous for anything, well-known, or rich. I'm a human being, though. I deserve to live. I didn't ask for Pulmonary Embolisms or blood clots at 28; they just grew in my body. I didn't pray for asthma, female issues, anxiety, depression, or any of the other "pre-existing" conditions I may have that all of you high and mighty men and women believe define whether or not I deserve to afford healthcare. I'm a survivor, thanks to my doctors, my medication, and AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE. So, Donald Trump, and all you Representatives that voted to approve this, I am thrilled that all of you are filthy rich, because YOU are responsible IF this passes completely. You are responsible for providing a decent, dignified burial for those you helped to die. Why? The answer is simple, really. EVERY American who dies because they cannot AFFORD to live is on YOUR hands. #LiveWithThat
