Hi! Do you have any Lizzy headcanons?

Absolutely!! Sorry for the wait, had an inspiration drought. For funsies, I've decided to share a few of Lizzy's love headcanons~!

- Lizzy is hopeless romantic! She is a sucker for all things lovey dovey--bouquets of flowers, chocolates, hand written love letters, and giant stuffed teddy bears are the way to her heart!

- Her ideal date is literally anywhere with her S/O. As long as she's with them, she could care less where they are. Though a nice candlelit dinner or stroll through the garden is always nice. Simple girls have simple pleasures.

- Lizzy fully believes every girl deserves a knight in shining armor and that only time will tell when they finally get to meet! However, Lizzy is very impatient.

- When it comes to being asked out, Lizzy prefers not to be the one asking. And when she really wants someone to ask her out, she'll make it out to be as if the person had asked her out, but in fact they didnt.

"Have you picked out an outfit for the dance?" they asked, out of genuine curiousity.

Lizzy's ears perked at the sound of their voice, immediately knowing who it was. Her eyes lit up at the sight of their face. "Yes! And we're going to look just dashing! See you at 8?"

"Uhm... excuse me?"

- When Lizzy starts to like someone, she gets SUPER protective over them. Across all verses, she is both a princess and knight in shining armor all wrapped in one cute little package! RIP anyone that gets to feel her fury when she finds out someone's been talking smack about her S/O.

- Lizzy strives to make her S/O feel as comfortable and safe as possible.

-She has an amazing attention for detail so she hangs onto every little detail about her crush. The way their mood changes even the slightest when something's off, their pattern of speech, and of course, their wardrobe.

- That being said, she takes everything her crush says to heart and maybe even a little too personally sometimes. When that happens, she can be pretty dramatic but it always comes from a good place at heart.

- When Lizzy falls for someone. She. Falls. Her mind will be clouded with thoughts of them for days non-stop! Makes for trouble when she's suppose to be focusing on her fencing techniques.

- She often worries about whether they're being taken care of properly or if they're in danger. Lovesick anxiety ensues and only intensifies when her S/O is away for a long time.

- Lizzy gets super self-conscious about her appearance when she's around her crush. Especially when she knows she will see them later, she will have tried on fifteen different dresses before leaving the manor.

- One of Lizzy's favorite things is to match her S/O in clothing, purposely or accidentally. It makes her feel like they are match meant to be!

Love in Marriage

I feel like Lizzy gets labelled as a romantic, will-only-marry-for-love sort of character, and I think partly that comes from her contrast against Charlotte, who is such a pragmatist she would sell her soul for a stable home.

But I don’t think she actually had that conviction. Lizzy’s main consideration seemed to be compatibility of personalities, and not love. She didn’t need a man she loved, she needed a man she could get along with and respect. Of course she couldn’t marry Mr. Collins, but she could have married Mr. Wickham, or Colonel Fitzwilliam (who always gets forgotten about). She’s more pragmatic than she gets credit for and seems to only care that Jane marries for love.

// Lizzy is demiromantic. She was not attracted to Wickham, she just liked him a lot. She would have easily been convinced that she was in love though.

Also her sister Mary, who is bad at reading the room and takes things very seriously and is perhaps hyperlexic.

// Jane Austin's writing is very oops all foils, and I have many thoughts on Charlotte Lucas. But I do think Mr. Bennet, in some ways, also is a foil for Lizzy. They both pride themselves on not being taken in by rank or social conventions, and they both delight in absurd characters. But Mr. Bennet's privilege provides him a level of protection Lizzy doesn't have, so he misses the harm that can come from the absurd. Mr. Collins is a mere amusement for him, but a threat to Lizzy. He doesn't need to care about flattering or causing offense, because his future is not at stake. He's permitted a level of eccentricity Lizzy is not.
