Love in Marriage
I feel like Lizzy gets labelled as a romantic, will-only-marry-for-love sort of character, and I think partly that comes from her contrast against Charlotte, who is such a pragmatist she would sell her soul for a stable home.
But I don’t think she actually had that conviction. Lizzy’s main consideration seemed to be compatibility of personalities, and not love. She didn’t need a man she loved, she needed a man she could get along with and respect. Of course she couldn’t marry Mr. Collins, but she could have married Mr. Wickham, or Colonel Fitzwilliam (who always gets forgotten about). She’s more pragmatic than she gets credit for and seems to only care that Jane marries for love.
