SO CAPRICON 36 HAPPENED. THAT WAS COOL. I met and spent COPIOUS quantities of time with @knitmeapony and @lizzybees, and reveled in @saathi1013‘s incredible fortitude as an Art Show lead! :D All of these humans are THE BEST humans, and I’m delighted to have gotten to eat hard boiled eggs behind a table with them.

Oh yeah. And I also showed some art and will soon be revealing a THING YOU CAN BUY OF YOUR VERY OWN. But I’ll probably write an Actual Post about that over on the art blog (@seeclairedraw) not here. 

Stories were had, sleep was not.

PS Eric Wilkerson gave me tips about using a gouache base for watercolors. I SMILED REAL BIG. That dude is amazing.

I will give you ANYTHING YOU WANT if you share your Mark Watney and Starfleet headcanons

DON’T MIND IF I DO.

Let’s talk about the older Mark Watney being one of the founding members of Starfleet.

Let’s talk about the M. Watney Botany Center on campus at the Academy.  Sulu bums around there a lot during his training.

Let’s talk about how by the time Jim and Bones (because this would have to be AOS for Eugenics Wars reasons) get to Starfleet they still reference Mark Watney in regards to survival training. They still play clips from the video journal he kept while stranded to talk about keeping your head in a crisis.

Speaking of which.  Let’s talk about how the Watney files are basically the reason that Starfleet requires it’s officers to keep personal logs as well as official ones, as sometimes the greatest breakthroughs come while talking to yourself.

AND FINALLY.

Let’s talk about little Jim Kirk, stranded on Tarsus IV, who almost manages to grow some potatoes out in the woods because he remembered some details from a documentary about Astronaut Mark Watney, old Earth, stranded on Mars.

....I am actually need a few boxes for organization and storage. It works for that. The peek at next months box -- that is one I won’t keep.

I was really unimpressed with the birchboxes I kept getting, so I switched to ipsy. Waiting for the sephora box to come out so I can get that one too.

We went with birchbox because the husband wanted the BirchboxMan boxes. I was really impressed with his box. Besides the sample (a great lotion that I want him to wear forever, a body wash just in time for him to fly out to DC, a meh fragrance, and a couple of other things. He’s really happy with the extras: A wallet multi-tool, a very nice and sturdy canvas ziptop bag that he used for his medical supplies on this trip.
