7, 11, 24, 32. :)
seven. oooh that's difficult omg idk I have a very very good memory for extraneous and completely useless information, and particularly numbers.
eleven. I am petrified of cockroaches, which since I live in Central London (with dreams of NYC) will potentially become a bit of a bummer. I also hate moths.
twenty-four. not really, no, unless empty red wine bottles count?
thirty-two. the worst place? erm....I didn't really like amsterdam that much but I wouldn't call it the worst place. (diplomat in the making here clearly omg)
well i have to say that i used to dislike brian but now you make me have so many feelings for brian/mac or will/mac/brian whateverrrrr anyway i'm making a video while acting like a psycho and this is all your fault ;___;
WE'RE GONNA NEED A BIGGER BOAT.
Ahh really I think it's amazing that so many of you are on board (it's that kind of day I'll make ship puns if I want to) with this because honestly I was expecting everyone to back away slowly when I first broached the idea of them. The fact that if anything the opposite has happened (guysss I wasn't expecting fanfic sdcfguhdnisf ily all) really demonstrates just how fantastic this tiny, bonkers fandom is and how happy I am to be a part of it.
Ugh though the thing with Brian is that we're supposed to dislike him. It's an almost criminal oversimplification, but he is, ostensibly, the Wickham to Will's Darcy. Sorkin's out-and-out stated that The Newsroom is romantic comedy, and where better to draw inspiration from that the very pinnacle of the genre Fifty Shades of Grey Pride & Prejudice? Will McAvoy is the archetypal Darcy figure. Beyond the superficial wealth and lack of charm, Will is unable, like Darcy, to easily forgive and forget - 'my good opinion once lost is lost forever' 'I can't forgive you' 'you weren't rejected you were betrayed' etc etc. Their flaws lie deepest in their pride, but perhaps their greatest similarity is more fundemental than that: They are both arseholes.
On the other hand, consider Wickham & Brian. The similarities are blatant here as well: they're cads, catches, cockerils and all the more attractive for it. They're passionate, certainly great fun at parties, but ultimately they misunderstand and misunderstood, and it is this that causes their respective downfalls, not their bravado. In short, it's ok to act like a psycho vis-a-vis Brian/Mackenzie/Will. Totally normal.
