This is nothing this isn't anything buuuuuuut if reconditioning has a visual component (the blue/red flashing lights during Sleep, the eye imagery of the Orb and the MOAT logo) then Mary Ann and Sylvia may be immune from the effects due to their visual impairments—I believe they're also the only two (major) characters we haven't seen on the reconditioning screens, I know we've seen the Dictator and Her

So like of courseeeee you would hate each other. Sylvia thinks Mary Ann is a spineless goody-two-shoes going along with the act despite knowing better and that she's throwing away the unique opportunity she has. Mary Ann thinks Sylvia is putting them both in danger with her flagrant refusal to obey, because if the powers that be decides that reconditioning-immune people are too much of an uncontrolled variable, they will be disposed of. And of course this is all according to plan because as long as the two girls are pitted against each other, Draag doesn't have to worry about either of them effecting any sort of change
