but if you sing these words
we'll never die
Okay, but like. Thinking about LLTBP with the context of the Black Parade music video is really fucking interesting now that I'm pondering it fully and it has some hellish lore implications if we roll with the idea of this all being in chronological order (Welcome to The Black Parade, The Black Parade is Dead, then Long Live the Black Parade).
Gee is LITERALLY depicted as the God of Death in the music video. He welcomes The Patient into the afterlife with his fellow beings of death. There's at least one other god shown in that music video. Mother War. There might be another, but I'm blanking (Famine, maybe?). This implies that Gee was ultimately overthrown by The Grand Immortal Dictator and potentially even dragged back to the land of the living to be forced into his own personal purgatory as a divine punishment.
The theory of The Patient being The Dictator just makes this all the more interesting. What happened between him being welcomed into the parade and The Black Parade being murdered and eventually resurrected into a painful timeloop with cloning and bombings? It's just so interesting to think about. Fanfic writers. Please
This picture is what really got the gears turning for me. The souls of the damned reaching out to their former god of death. Fucking hell (no pun intended)
🕯️🕯️🕯️manifesting that on one beautiful day we'll be able to listen to 2006's "the black parade" album and then immediately follow it up with 2008's "the black parade is dead!" album and then immediately follow that up with 2016's "the black parade/living with ghosts" album and then immediately follow that up with 2027's "long live the black parade 20th anniversary at the hollywood bowl" album featuring the extended version of Mama and The End reprise 🕯️🕯️🕯️
