I took up a part-time position as a Local Leader. Basically I’m a facilitator for a group of foreign students.
My first day as a local leader, I am required to pick up one of my groups from the airport. I took the 6pm flight and my other colleague took the 10pm flight. Being the kiasu me, I’ve been checking the flight detail from the moment I woke up!!! And being excited too.. Somehow there was no flight details. By 3pm, I was worried. Luckily, hubby was helping me check as well while he was at work and highlighted to me that the flight wasn’t a CL but a CI! I had to check it with the “boss” and he confirmed it.
Anyway, since I now know the touch down time and the terminal, I left at 5pm to the airport. Arrived there at 6pm, picked up the MRT map so I could explain to the teacher for the adult students who needed to head their way to school on their own. Then, I went in search of all points to purchase SIM card as I was told they wanted it. After that, I walked to the coach area to determined the place so as to avoid embarrassment of not knowing where it is later. Called the driver too and coordinated with him upon arrival of my group of 19.
Then it was just sitting and waiting. The flight finally landed at 6.58pm. I was anxious. Kept looking at the belt and then got worried that they won’t be able to see, etc. By 8.15pm, they were finally out. There were some discrepancies on purchasing the SIM card as they wanted a good deal for the duration of their stay. That took awhile. By 8.30pm (5 minutes from the time given to him), the driver called to say if they are out. I told him to give us another 5 minutes as they were purchasing SIM cards. 5 minutes later, he received my call saying I was heading our way out.
Then off we went to HWBS. There the students were all settled in. Briefed them for their activities the next day.
Hubby came pick me up and we had a late dinner after. By the time we got back, it was 11.30pm. Now off to bed for me......another full day tomorrow.
