For a different AU that I also write (though honestly it's more a collaboration): @stevenuniversewerewolfau
(It is notably not a part of the collapsedverse, but does take elements from it, mainly so that I can keep the stuff that I added to Gem kind straight in my head).
occupants: runaways and undesirables, mainly children, teens, and very young adults
who is an undesirable? undesirables are the, well, undesirable people of society, or the children who’s parents don’t want them anymore.
examples: Jamison Summers, the non-binary kid kicked out of their home at fifteen years old. Eira Holt, wheelchair-bound since seven. And me. Chronically disabled and also, lesbian. Though that last bit doesn’t have much to do with my exile.
this is an abandoned mall, in case you haven’t noticed. I think it’s homey, though.
I’m the sort of leader around here - oldest person willing to take care of everyone else. Nice to meet you. No, the government won’t find you here. Well, they probably know you’re here already, but they won’t do anything.
We’re undesirables. Anyone here has practically nowhere else to go back to.
Unless you’re Daniel Tan, I guess. He lived here for five or six years, then got himself caught up in some government scheme or the other.
So yeah. Don’t be Daniel, and you’re good.

from Marcy’s basement bedroom to Roseline’s attic alcove - from the bottom, to the top. quite similar to the way they move through the criminal ranks.
the bottom - petty thieves and jaywalkers.
the top - classified as a goddamn terrorist organization by the government.
Roseline will never be able to tell you if it was worth it. but at least they have an official base of operations.

when I say I'm bad at directions i don't mean that I get lost easily I mean that if you ask me where North is I will not be able to tell you. I have to stare at my fingers whenever I wish to know my left and rights. where the fuck is east
Not much had happened after the previous trial. Cery Madrigal, the tabletop gamer who had been "executed" in Natsume's assumed place had been found by Kelila Talika, the observer, although nobody is quite sure about what happened after that. Letting the so-called murderer as well as mole run around free was quite the issue for the students, but there were more important things to worry about. For example, the fact that the speaker turned on after days.
"You all look bored out of your minds!! Where is the despair? The killing? Maybe it's the location.. Give me jussssst a second!!!"
No matter where the student was at the time, a strange gas filled the air, taking over their senses. What in hell was this? Slowly but surely, their senses came to a halt as they blacked out, but for how long is unknown..
Upon waking up in the middle off the woods, they are met with Monobear, who urges them to follow. Looking around, some a bit more hesitant and resisting than others, they all slowly made their way up a stone path, only for their eyes to widen in.. amazement?
The new location is nothing less than an extravagant castle. Out front after climbing a stone path, there is a large Monobear fountain similar to the one found in the second location, as well as some benches around it. Upon entering, the students are met with stone walls and floors hidden by paintings and velvet purple rugs, and are even asked to leave their shoes at the entrance as to not dirty anything. The windows aren’t covered, so you can look outside and see the woods surrounding the castle.
The castle is fenced in by a large, electric fence to prevent them from breaking out. This allows the students to wander around it. In the front is, as mentioned, the large Monobear fountain as well as benches, and around the sides are more benches with some gardens. Out back is a lovely gazebo, which is actually quite large and adorned in flowers and other elegant decorations. Sadly, a Monobear statue nearby it takes away what nice atmosphere it was working towards.
There is a pinging noise, and the students pull out their electronic cards to find an updated map as well as a vague description of the rooms.
