The Rules Board!

My name is Loddie, and my associate, Laddie, and I are here to present the residents of Pharloom with a dart game! The game is simple: Hit the target three times in a row, and a bet of rosaries will be yours! Miss the target, and the game is over! Here's how to play:

The Player

rolls 2d6

hit the bell (send an ask) to begin a game. First roll is made after Loddie answers the call

bet any amount of rosaries to Loddie (lowest bet 25 rosaries)

must beat Loddie three times consecutively to win. To beat Loddie, roll must be equal to or higher than Loddie’s roll

each success adds a +1 modifier to roll

after three successes, take twice the amount of the bet or all of Loddie's rosaries, whichever is lower

rolls (2d20/2.2) - 2. Roll does not change between rounds

all rolls are rounded up to the nearest integer

begins with 380 rosaries. Current rosary count is: 290 (380 - 90 stolen by Mort) rosaries

An example round: The player rolls 2d6: (4,5) = 9. Loddie rolls 2d20: (9,3), which is an outcome of 4; the player wins. The player rolls 2d6+1: (2,1)+1 = 4. Loddie rolls 2d20: (4,17), which is an outcome of 8; Loddie wins. Loddie keeps the wager.

Hi! You may call me Fleck; my main blog is @flecks-of-stardust. I started this blog on a whim because I like dice and numbers. This is intended to be a mostly nonsense blog where you roll dice and gamble with fake money; don't take it too seriously.

Also, yes: The game is a scam. The game is rigged in Loddie's favor, so don't be surprised if you don't win! That's the point! Makes it all the more satisfying if you do win.

Some ground rules and extra information:

No cheating! Players will not get roll bonuses outside of consecutive wins. This will remain true UNLESS you give me an extremely good reason to give you a roll buff through convincing roleplaying. If you want this to be an option, you must state so (out of character) in your ask to start the game. Players that do not follow this rule will have their attempts for roll buffs be ignored.

Though this blog will have some light roleplaying and will be in the pharloomblr tag, I do not intend to have Loddie and Laddie participate in the pharloomblr lore roleplaying. I don't have the time, and it's frankly too much commitment. I want to keep this blog silly, so it'll just be about throwing darts and getting scammed.

Relatedly, while I will occasionally answer certain non-gameplay asks, the majority will likely be ignored. Asks related to shipping will be deleted.

At any given moment, there will only be three contestants at most. This is to keep the threads from getting too chaotic. Once one contestant has finished the game, the contestant with the chronologically oldest ask will go next.

Your characters are allowed to be mad at Loddie for scamming them of their rosaries, but please don't send anything with too much vitriol! I still have to read what you write, so don't go too overboard with it. That said, I encourage you to get silly with it.

If Loddie runs out of rosaries, you will get a little doodle of a trinket of your choice! He will also be quite upset about being reverse-robbed ;)

You do not need to be a roleplay blog to participate! However, for roleplay purposes, Loddie will treat you like a random pilgrim.
