LOTF AU. SON OF THE BEAST.

a AU where the Beast is not just real, it’s connected to Ralph. The other boys begin to believe he’s the Beast’s child, chosen one, or vessel. Whether the connection is supernatural, psychological, or imagined, Ralph becomes the symbol of everything they fear. As order collapses and blood spills, Ralph must face a haunting question: Is the Beast inside him... or is he becoming it?

"It didn’t just watch him. It knew him. And in the dark, it called him Son."

After a plane crash strands a group of boys on a remote island, Ralph emerges as their leader, fair, logical, and fiercely hopeful. He believes they can survive, be civilized, and light a fire big enough to bring rescue. The others follow. For a time.

But the island is not empty. Deep in the jungle, something ancient stirs. Not just a rumor or a shadow, a real creature, massive and unnatural, unseen by most but feared by all. The boys call it the Beast.

And it is real.

As paranoia grows and order begins to crumble, strange things begin happening around Ralph. The Beast never approaches him with violence. In fact… it seems to protect him. Animals avoid him. Dead things are left at the edge of his shelter.. gifts. Blood is spilled by unseen claws, but Ralph always walks away unharmed.

The whispers begin: “The Beast favors him.” “He talks to it.” “He is its child.”

Ralph doesn’t understand. He doesn’t want this.

But at night, in the hush between firelight and jungle, something ancient calls to him in a voice only he can hear.

“You are mine. You are the fire I buried in this earth. You are the child of blood and sky.”

As Jack breaks away to form his own violent tribe and fear overpowers reason, Ralph’s reputation turns against him. The other boys. once his allies. begin to fear him more than the Beast itself. They say the deaths began because of him. That he was chosen. That he brought the Beast here.

Even Piggy begins to doubt. Simon dies trying to explain the truth that the Beast is part of all of them.. but his body washes away, unheard.

Ralph begins to see it too. The way the trees bend when he walks. The things he dreams, bloody, primal, prophetic. The way the Beast speaks in a voice that sounds like his own, only older.He isn’t sure if it’s madness, magic, or something older than either.

In the final days, the line between Beast and boy begins to blur. Ralph is hunted by Jack’s tribe, not as an enemy, but as a sacrifice. they believe killing him will end the horror. But the Beast will not let him die.

Blood pours. Spears break. And Ralph is left standing in the ruin of the island, haunted and unclaimed. The fire he kept alive burns everything around him. Everybody lived. but will Ralph be the same?
