Thank You, Trickster
Thank you, Trickster,
for making me laugh
on the darkest days
for wrapping me up
in a warm embrace
when I’m scared
or vulnerable
Thank you, Trickster,
for telling me to
question all,
to get back up whenever I fall,
for helping me find
my own inner strength
Thank you, Trickster,
for showing me
when to allow myself
the chance to change
when to tear it all down
and when to plant my
feet firm
when to fight with my teeth
and when to fight with my words
when to cling to something
and when to let it all burn
thank you, Trickster
Thank you, Trickster,
for sharing with me
this sacred rage
helping me carry
this raw pain
for being a spark
of my liberation flame
thank you, Trickster
Thank you, Trickster,
whose presence of
chaos and laughter
and darkness and light
has been with me
for so much of my life
thank you, Trickster
Thank you, Trickster,
teller of hard truths
whisperer of the lies
I need to hear
flame-dancer
wind-prancer
father of Fenrir
mother of Sleipnir
guide and friend
god and Jotun
bringer of love and light
and warmth
as well as deceit, darkness,
and the cold of the
mountainous land
in which
you were born
you help me to see
my chains, Trickster,
you help me set me
free
when I am afraid to step,
you push me
make me leap
thank you, Trickster,
you mean so much
to me
god of change, chaos,
liberation, the in-between,
quick wits, vengeance, laughter,
the god of trickery
A devotional poem/prayer that I wrote for Loki.
