An Archive of Our Own, a project of the
Organization for Transformative Works
Before One Piece, before my Good Omens and Disney One Shots, I wrote Collided. It was dreadful, I wrote like 1k a day and posted it, and somehow it did really well; but I abandoned it because I was like 19 and doing a million pieces of Uni work.
And then I rewrote that little bitch.
This is that little bitch.
It probably needs a rewrite again but I think this power-metal-induced fever dream of a fic was where a) my love of writing began and b) my style of writing began. Because I wanted to write an arranged-marriage-to-Thor fic where the protagonist falls in love with Loki instead, and instead of picking a Fair Asgardian Maiden (tm) I thought, 'nah, Niflheim is uninhabited, let's inhabit it!' and so the Nifl's were born. And I thought, 'They need a religion' so the Ancestors were born, and then the Bjornlings were born, and I totally stole the forsaken army from Dragonage (sorry not sorry, we'll call it an easter egg that no-one's got yet).
So, if you want to read a story about a horned, fierce dragon-woman falling in love with Loki that most likely desperately needs another rewrite - the sequel of which is in very slow progress - check it out.
Story summary: You have fallen through a portal during the convergence into Asgard and come face to face with Thor, and his brother Loki. With no way to return, you must travel with the two men and their hoard of asgardian soldiers to get back home. Things get from bad to worse when you have to share a tent with the god of mischief himself.
Notes: Sorry this one took me a little while longer, please bear with me over the next few weeks! I feel like this chapter is a bit shorter too, but let me know what you think!
warnings: some violence but nothing graphic

You smirked. You knew you should be more upset about the whole tolls in the village thing but first and foremost you couldn’t help but want to giggle.
Trolls in the dungeon.
A few things happened at once when the servant had come into the room, Loki and Thor had both stood up, and Thor started to wield his hammer. The rest of the party had also started to prepare themselves for battle, and some of Yrsa’s house staff started to talk anxiously between themselves. You were starting to feel a bit anxious yourself, but you decided the best place to be during a toll attack was with Thor and Loki, you had seen some of the footage from New York after all.
Another servant came in, but this time instead of screeching she whispered into Yrsa’s ear. Yrsa nodded and cleared her throat before announcing,
“They are here, they are inside the castle.”
The anxious voices increased, and the young servant from before looked like he might pass out.
Thor looked at Loki and nodded at him, as if willing him to speak.
“Do not worry. it is not the first time we have come across trolls before and we will endeavour to defeat them” Loki stated, addressing the room.
We were back to Loki’s princely behaviour that you found so interesting. You guessed if he was going to make a good impression and win their favour of him being king one day, he had to do the leading rather than Thor.
“Latte” Thor inclined his head, asking you to come and speak with him.
You followed him over to where he was stood.
“It’s best you stay out of the way. Trolls are not exactly an adept and terrifying threat, but they are big and stupid and would not hesitate to hurt you. Perhaps wait in your bedroom until this is finished with, I’ll get Loki to transport you.”
“You’ll get Loki to do what?”
“Brother, can you transport Latte to her chambers until we deal with the tolls?”
For the second time that day, Loki told a hold of the top of your arm. This was becoming kind of a thing and you weren’t overly keen on it. This time, it was arguably worse than pushing you against a wall because you suddenly heard a loud whooshing noise and then your head started to spin as if you’d had a bottle and a half of wine. You felt your feet being ripped from the ground and just as you had opened your mouth to scream, it was over and you had landed in your room.
You clutched your head,
“That was awful, holy shit, never do that again.”
Loki chuckled at you.
“Stay here until we have dealt with the trolls.”
“No fear, I have no wish to meet a troll”
You bit your tongue to stop yourself adding “You’re enough of a troll as it is.” You are still pretty upset at his words, referring to you as dull and uninteresting. You weren’t sure why you were so upset, this was the man who tried to bring your world under subjugation so you knew he had a low opinion of mortals after all.
“I’m not sure how they got into the castle” Loki frowned, “you better take this.”
To your surprise, Loki conjured up a small round crystal. It was black, with green threads running through it. You opened your palm automatically and he dropped it in the centre. It felt smooth and warm in your hand.
You were dumbfounded.
“What’s this?”
“It’s a stone.” He smirked irritatingly.
You shot him a look but before you had time to speak he put his hand in front of your mouth. AGAIN.
“Ah ah ah, let me stop you before you say something you will live to regret. I am the future King after all and I will not have you speak to me without reverence.”
You started at him until he brought his hand down.
“Whats is it for, your highness” you added with spite at the end.
He narrowed his eyes “Careful mortal.”
You waited until he decided to stop being a dick and talk you normally.
“It’s a stone” He said again and you swore you were about to kill him. ‘Which, when held and by the possessor will result in aid.”
Aid? The whiplash from Loki acting okay one second and then awful the next was giving you a headache. A part of you was kind of wishing he would just stay as being mean to you at least that made things easier to comprehend.
“Why?”
Loki raised his brow “Why what?”
“Why are you giving me this?”
He rolled his eyes, “are you so dim that you have already forgotten our earlier conversation? I warned you did I not mortal that Asgard is dangerous for a mortal.”
“Didn’t think id be worth saving given I’m a dull creature with no interesting or intelligent qualities.” You muttered.
You didn’t mean to say that honestly, it had been a weird day and you wished you could take back what you had said immediately, you didn’t want him to know his words had affected you.
Of course he picked up on it immediately.
“I didn’t know you listened so intently to me mortal” Loki snickered “Still my brother would be agitated if you died.”
God he was such an arse.
You clenched your jaw and threw the stone away from you and on the bed.
You waited for him to leave and he continued to stare at you.
“Anything else your Highness?” You sighed.
“Oh come on girl, even you should realise that being uninteresting would be advantageous during your time here.”
You said nothing.
Loki’s face darkened as he stepped towards you.
“You know mortal, I can act the villain you so believe me to be.”
You rolled your eyes “You are already the villain.”
His eyes narrowed,
“You are just like the rest of your pathetic race, completely unaware of what is good for you and so quick to assume the worst.”
“Assume the worst? What? About you? Did you or did you not murder like..” You stoped for a second mid rant you weren’t exactly sure how many people Loki had murdered in New York.
“Like a bunch of people in New York.”
“You know nothing of me and my past. You are so blind to your ignorance just like the rest of the mortals that I doubt you would understand the nuances between good and evil” He spat.
“I understand the nuances between killing people and not killing people.” You retorted.
Loki’s eyes were icy and angry, you swore you could see them flash red. You took a step back feeling alarmed.
You felt a hand on your shoulder behind you and screamed. You tried to turn your head, but an arm wrapped around your neck, and you felt a pressure on your windpipe.
“Oh? Tell me. What are the nuances between killing people and not killing people?” A voice hissed low in your ear, and you felt your hair move from the draft.
You froze. You tried to kick backwards, futilely trying to escape his grip. He responded by tightening his grip and it was starting to hurt. You stoped struggling to concentrate on breathing.
“Ah, there now” He cooed softly. “Is this better? Both of us playing our parts; I a villainous God and you the lowly subservient subject.”
You made a choking noise.
“Hmm” He whispered and you shivered, as you felt the cool tip of a dagger being brought down the side of your face and the feeling of dread grew in your stomach.
“Get…get off me. You can’t kill me, Thor will - ” You said weakly.
“Thor will do nothing. He already abdicated the throne after all, it was always going to be mine, and in face of these greater plans you are irrelevant and unimportant.”
You swallowed thickly, this man could squash you in one and didn’t seem to be considering letting you go anytime soon.
“Tell me mortal, is this not how you want me to be? To be your villain?”
God he was really going to kill you just to prove a point.
“Please.”
“Please what?”
“Please let me go. I get it, you’ve been acting extremely graciously towards me since I’ve been here and I’m thankful.” You spat
“Hm, I don’t think you do get it.” He gripped you tighter for a second and you chocked, winded, but then he let you go.
You leapt away from him, rubbing your neck.
There was a shout from outside and Loki sighed, as if he was disappointed,
“You could never understand, for you are so small minded you will only ever perceive what you want to perceive.” and with that scathing remark he teleported himself away.
You sat down onto your bed, you had really pissed him off this time. Even when he had been shooting comments at you which had aimed to scare you, you had never actually been properly scared until then. You rubbed your neck again, where his arm had been digging in. For a God and future king and all that he sure was sensitive.
You laid back down and waited. You weren’t sure how long exactly to wait for, but you hoped Thor would remember you existed and come get you.
After a while, you started to hear something from outside. You stilled and listened as intently as you could. The noise was getting closer and closer, it sounded like a drum. As it got closer, the drumming sound was accompanied by some grunting and heavy breathing.
You felt your heart beat fast in your chest and your palms grow sweaty. You stood from the bed as quietly as you could, and rolled down the side of the bed so if someone came into the room you were hidden from the door.
The drumming noise stopped just outside your room and you held your breath, conscious to make no noise at all.
There was a few moments where nothing happened.
And then, there was a horrible bang on your door. Someone or something was trying to get in like Johnny from the Shining. There was the awful sound of something ripping the door open, and splinters of wood shattered throughout the room.
You screamed as a giant grotesque troll barged its way into your room. It was 8ft at least, with an ugly green face. It looked down and spotted you, grinning wildly and showing you its three, crooked rotten black teeth.
You opened your mouth but no noise came out. The troll was carrying a large metal bat with a spike at the end, and he swung it hard and menacingly, knocking down the wall in between your room and the corridor. You were frozen in your spot. This was the second time you had been attacked today in the space of less hours.
The troll swung his weapon again, breaking the bed in front of you and stepping towards you. It smelt awful, like rotten eggs and you gagged as it got closer from the stench.
You managed to move, and you backed up against the wall behind you.
Come on, think. But your brain had seemingly stopped working and you couldn’t see a single way out of this. You voice had chocked up, and you couldn’t scream to ask for help.
You could not believe this is was how you were going to die and you shut your eyes and squeezed tight.
The troll took another large, loud step forward continuing to demolish your bedroom, and you felt something hit your foot. Looking down you spotted the stone that Loki had given you.
Without wasting another second you dived for it, just as the troll dived for you. The troll grabbed you roughly by your dress and heaved you up until you were face to face with it. The stench was worse up close, and you could smell its breath on your face.
You tightened your grip on the stone, realising that the idiot Loki hadn’t actually told you how to summon help using the stone other than holding it. Did you need to say some magic words?
“Help” you whispered out loud while holding the stone.
The troll flipped you upside down and held you up high, until you were now facing his chest. The troll shook you hard, and the blood was rushing to your head painfully. He shook you again and you dropped the stone from your grip. You watched it fall onto the floor beneath you and roll under a bit of debris from the bed.
The troll swung you to the right, three times. Each time swinging you higher and then he let go. You braced yourself, expecting to feel the hard wall as you smashed into it but it never came.
Instead, you felt arms around you, wrapping around your middle and then you crashed into the ground. The last thing you remembered before you blacked out was an arm glad in green and silver armour curling under your head to soften the impact.
***
Your heard hurt. Your muscles ached. You felt heavy and sore.
Where you hungover? You didn’t think so but you weren’t sure. You couldn’t remember what you had done to warrant this feeling.
You could hear something in the distance. It sounded like voices.
How strange to hear voices in your bedroom. You wished they would leave you alone. Your head was throbbing.
You started to come round slowly and the voices started to become clearer. The voices were slightly raised and you could tell they were arguing about something.
You opened your eyes slowly, trying to piece together what was happening.
You were back in bed in Loki’s tent. It was cold, and you realised you could feel a draft coming from the open panels in the tent. You tried to sit up, but your head felt too big and heavy to move, so you settled for listening in to the conversation happening outside the tent.
“How are we supposed to believe you had nothing to do with this?”
“How dare you accuse us of treason?” An older lady’s voice spoke.
“Well the trolls got into the castle somehow, and they are far too stupid to do it on their own. Are you suggesting it was a coincidence that the trolls knew exactly where to look to find our bed chambers?”
“And are you suggesting my prince, that I and my daughters would purposefully put our towns folk in danger? Purposefully damage our home?”
“Besides, given your track record, Prince Loki, with letting beings into castle -“ A different voice spoke.
“Ylva!” The older lady spoke again, sharply.
“Look, tensions are high for all of us.” The voice you recognised as Thor’s placated, “It has been a difficult day and my men are currently helping the people to repair damages. I am sorry about your home Lady Audhild, we will do whatever we can to help.”
“Thank you, your highness. Our east wing has been completely damaged and will take time to repair however.”
“Indeed. We thank you for the hospitality you have already shown us, and we have provisions to camp outside during our stay here.”
“Rest my princes, until tonight.” You heard Yrsa’s voice speak.
After a few moments, Thor and Loki entered the tent and noticed you were awake.
“Ah, my lady, you are with us” Thor smiled down at you.
“Well I think so.”
“The mortal lives.” Loki commented.
“How are you feeling” Thor sat on the bed at your feet.
‘Bleh.” You mumbled “head hurts.”
Thor looked at you sympathetically,
“This is no surprise, you took quite a tumble.”
“So what happened then with the trolls?” You asked trying to sit up again and failing.
Thor and Loki looked at each other seriously.
“Well, there was more trolls than we expected, trolls aren’t exactly creatures who travel in packs, they are far too dim to work or live together without killing each other so it was…strange to see so many together infiltrating a town.” Thor explained to you.
“Is that why you were talking about it being an inside job?” You asked curiously.
Thor sighed and furrowed his brow,
“I…I’m sure it is nothing. Lady Yrsa would not want anything to happen to her mother or sister, nor the people under her command.”
“But she might want something to happen to us.” Loki said darkly. “Do you truly think it wise to stay here brother?”
Thor nodded. “We must stay to continue with our objective to build trust, sooth thoughts of disruptions and create allies throughout the kingdom. It’s best not to make any further insinuations or we will loose their trust.”
Loki didn’t look overly chuffed at the idea but did not argue back
“Did you…get them all? The trolls I mean?”
Thor chuckled,
“Yes my lady, we “got” all of the trolls. No fatalities either but some casualties and structural damage to houses and the castle. I’m very glad we managed to get to you in time, thank the Norns Loki was around!”
Oh so the protective stone was just bullshit then? Maybe he had given it to you as a joke, you could imagine him laughing at you as you tried to use it for help. Or maybe Thor just didn’t know about it. You didn’t want to think about it anyway, your head felt like it was pulsating and you were struggling to hold onto threads of thought for too long.
“We will leave you now my lady, and help in the city, princely duties never stop.” Thor grinned at you and stood up. “I will send a healer in to help with your headache and bruises, but rest for tonight until the feast, I feel we need one more than ever to increase morale after this afternoon.”
Loki didn’t say anything to you and left the tent followed by his brother. You were sick to death of seeing him; Lokis changing attitude and actions were too much for you to cope with. In the space of a few hours he had: warned you to be careful, supposedly even given you something so you could get help when needed, insulted you, physically threatened your life, and saved you from a troll.
The whiplash from it all was ridiculous and you had had enough. To make matters worse it was looking like you wouldn’t even get a nights break from him as hoped.
You slowly turned over in the bed to get comfortable and try and sleep for a bit, and as you did so you noticed something; the stone that Loki had given you was sitting on the table next to you.
Hey all! Finally getting around to posting one of my Loki fics and it just so happens to be the newest one! @emeraldrosequartz and I have been working in this and we continue to work on it. Check it out~!
Story summary: Loki is still trying to prove to his people (and perhaps to himself) that he actually is capable of doing good, dedicating himself to finding lost artifacts of Asgard that were left on Earth. Instead, he may have accidentally found something - someone - worth much more to him than an artifact.
Lillium walked home that afternoon after being at her local library for the entire morning and a better part of the afternoon. It was time to head back to her tiny apartment for the rest of the day. She didn’t really pay attention to where she was walking as she looked in her bag, trying to make sure she had everything before she got too far away from the library. She knew the path home easily as long as nobody else was on the sidewalk and at this time of day, this street was pretty empty. She thought she was in the clear to space out a bit, but she was wrong.
Walking from the opposite direction, Loki rushed down the sidewalk, concealing his prize beneath a trench coat he used to conceal his identity. His wide-brimmed hat kept his face out of the views of passersby, as if he would ever look at them. All he needed to do was get back to the safety of his hideout, his little hovel here in the city so he could inspect this priceless artifact in peace. To see if it was truly --
His shoulder collided with someone walking in the opposite direction. Loki nearly lost his balance and spun around a little, stumbling as he was barely able to keep upright. Meanwhile, Lillium was not so lucky, landing hard on the concrete. As she fell, some metal trash cans in the nearby alleyway shifted and toppled over. One of them was even dented a bit by something unseen.
Summary: The reader returns to the tower when a new face is introduced.

Relief washed over you, the minute you had stepped foot in the tower. It had been three long months since you had gone back home to visit your family. It was around 11:30 pm when you finally got back to the tower. Grabbing your bag you walked into the tower.
The familiar aroma it had, breezed through your nose as you inhaled it. Walking into your chambers, you immediately changed before crawling into bed and letting sleep over take you.
Changing into your favorite sweatpants and crew neck, you scurried to the kitchen. The sound of laughter and chatter filled the air. As you opened the door, the chatter came to a crashing halt.
“Y/N!”
Wanda was the first to greet you and tug you in for a hug.
“Did you know she was here?” Steve questioned Tony.
“I had no idea.” Tony responded with surprise. “I didn’t think she was suppose to be back until next week?”
“I couldn’t help it.” You commented, sliding into the seat beside Tony. “I wanted to surprise my favorite people.”
“Thor’s going to be over the moon.” Natasha giggled.
“Where is he by the way?”
“Mission.” Everyone spoke in unison.
Nodding your head, you spent the rest of the day doing different activities with each person.
As you were laying in your room reading, there was a harsh knock on the door. Opening it you couldn’t stop the grin that had danced to your lips.
“Lady Y/N!” Thor exclaimed wrapping his arms around your waist, yanking you in for a hug. Lifting you off of the ground, he began twirling you in his arms.
Chuckling, he placed you back on your feet.
“This is my brother, Loki.” He gestured while grinning.
“Y/N.” You stated holding your hand out to shake.
Glancing at your hand, he looked back into your eyes before he scoffed striving down the hall.
Frowning Thor turned towards you. “I’m sorry about him.”
“It’s okay! I missed you.”
The rest of the day, Thor had barely left your side. He had become one of your best friends since you had joined the Avengers.
Since that day, Loki had intrigued you. He was quiet and brooding. His onyx hair was smooth and wavy while his ocean blue eyes seemed to bore into your soul. You had made it your mission to befriend him, while he seemed to make it his mission to reject you.
Almost everyone had gone away on a mission, except for you, Bruce, Sam and Loki. Bruce had locked himself away in the Lab, while Sam had gone somewhere on a mini mission of his own.
The soft pelting of rain against the roof and windows, sounded through the tower as it was practically silent. You had spent most of the day, wandering around and leaving little surprises and gifts for your friends. Grabbing your book, you mosey over to the living room. Much to your surprise, y/e/c was met with the same ocean blue ones that were avoiding you.
Once you locked eyes, you halted your steps immediately.
“Sorry.” You muttered sadly, dropping your gaze to the ground. Turning on your heel, you quickly made your way to the door. A strong hand wrapped around your wrist preventing you from moving further.
“Stay.” A deep voice spoke in a hushed tone.
Nodding your head, he let go of your wrist curiously watching your actions. Without meeting his gaze, you made your way over the window sill that you often used as your reading nook.
Being engulfed in your novel, you hadn’t noticed the man occupying the seat in front of you, until his outstretched leg softly bumped yours. Startled you, a soft gasp fell from your lips.
“I didn’t mean to scare you.” He spoke quietly.
Nodding your head, you resumed reading. Without looking up from your book, you broke the silence.
“What?” You questioned. “Do I have something on my face?”
“No.” He spoke quickly.
Heat rose in your cheeks, as your eyes met his once again.
“What is it?” You prompted while raising an eyebrow at him over your book.
“Nothing.” He replied raising his book signalling the end of the conversation.
Resuming your place in your novel, you saw out of your peripheral vision the soft gaze of the ocean eyes as they drank in your features.
“There you are Brother!” Thor boomed as he entered the living room. Stopping in the middle of the living room, sending him a smirk.
Both you and Loki jumped at the sudden loud noise. Before gazing at the blonde giant.
Quickly rising to your feet, you scurried out of the room.
“What?” Loki snapped returning to his book.
“You like her.” Thor occupied the seat you had previous left.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Loki denied.
Silence fell between them, before Thor spoke again.
“She’s a great girl.” He stated.
Loki huffed in annoyance before he stomped out of the living room, only to be greeted with giggles in the hallway. As he searched for the source of the sound, he stood in front of Wanda’s bedroom door. The door was left open slightly, revealing you and Natasha sitting on one side of the bed. His lifts morphed into a soft smile.
Later that night the girls had took over the living room, practically screaming at Jarvis to request your presence. Their giggling had filled the hallway leading to the living room.
“What are you guys doing?” You questioned as a giggle fell from your lips.
“Impromptu girls night!” Wanda exclaimed.
Stepping in front of them, you rolled your eyes in a playful manner. Joining them on the couch, you began watching Rom-Com movies. Not long after the second movie, Wanda initiated a talk about your love lives. As if on cue, the living room door opened revealing a sweatpant clad Loki.
“I...I uh just came to check on you girls.” He spoke in a hushed tone, shifting from foot to foot visibly uncomfortable. Before he could say anything further, Wanda had yanked him forward, causing him to land flush beside you on the couch.
“Nat!” She shrieked giggling at Natasha. “There’s a boy in our girls night room!”
Natasha giggled in response. Gazing between your two friends, it dawned on you that they had probably been drinking before you joined them.
Turning to glance at Loki, a smile made its way to your lips. Wanda positioned herself so that she was cuddling into Loki’s side, as she asked him question after question, while none of which seemed to annoy him, if they did he hid it rather well.
Lifting his gaze to the end of the couch, where yours was as he returned your smile. At some point during the night, you had fallen asleep on Loki. Wanda and Natasha were in deep slumber on the floor, covered by blankets and pillows.
A loud boom startled you awake, causing a soft groan to escape from underneath you.
“Sorry.” You whispered, as you began unwrapping yourself from Loki.
“Stay.” He pleaded quietly. “Please.”
Nodding, you laid back in your previous position. Gazing into his ocean blue eyes, you gently raised your hand touching his cheek. Closing his eyes, he leaned into your touch. As you fell back asleep, you felt Loki, pull you closer.
“Guys we have a huge problem.” Tony spoke joining the team for breakfast. Loki had opted to sit beside you, allowing his thigh to rest firmly against yours. As Tony explained, your heart fell into your stomach knowing nothing good would come from this mission.
“Pesky little things.” Galaticus spoke as flung Natasha into Clint, causing them both to hit the ground with a thud.
“Get out of here!” Sam yelled towards you. “Now!”
Sam was in the air flying around trying to distract him.
“I have to agree with wingman.” Thor spoke up as he and his brother joined your side.
“You know I can’t do that.” You stated as a sadness was evident in your voice. Glancing around, you were trying to come up with a plan. “They’re my friends.”
“I know.” He confirmed, placing a hand on your shoulder. “Can’t blame me for trying.”
You nodded your head.
“What’s the plan?” He questioned.
“What makes you think I have a plan?” You asked looking around the battle scene.
He scoffed in response. “When don’t you?”
Loki’s blue eyes, captured yours as you were going over the plan with Thor. One of Galacus’s minions took advantage of Loki being distracted charging at him and knocking him to the ground.
Your feet had immediately took you towards Clint’s bow and arrow.
“Y/N!” Clint yelled catching your attention. “Catch!”
He tossed you his bow and arrows. Catching it, you furiously began shooting arrows at a rapid pace, taking the enemy out one by one.
Adrenaline began pumping through your veins as your chest began rising and falling rapidly.
“Y/N!” Steve yelled towards you nodding.
Running at full speed at Steve, he lifted you on his shield before using his strength to assist your continuation into the air. Shooting your arrow at Galacus, you managed to pierce his shoulder, earning a strangled cry of pain from him.
Tumbling down to the ground with a harsh thud, he began his decent on you. Thor stepped in taking him by surprise, allowing you to scramble out of harms way.
Stepping out of the shower, you moved your tank top strap slightly, as you caught sight of your bruised shoulder. It looked worse than it felt. There was a large black and blue hue to it. Sighing, you shook your head exiting the bathroom.
A large figure perched on the edge of your bed, caused a yelp to fall from your lips as you placed a hand over your heart.
“Sorry love.” Loki’s voice filled the air. “I didn’t mean to scare you.”
You scoffed.
“What you did today...Was stupid.”
You rolled your eyes in response.
“You could’ve died today!” Loki explained as he raised his voice.
“So?” You challenged, crossing your arms over your chest. “Everyone else on the team has done so many, many times. I don’t see you yelling at them!”
“I don’t care about them!” He exclaimed. Once the realization of his confession dawned on him, you watched a tinted pink color dance along his cheeks.
Your voice was barely above a whisper. “You care about me?”
“Of course I do. You’re my brothers pet human.” Loki spat. “I would hate for anything to happen to you, it would devastate my brother. Besides, you’re a useless human. I don’t see why everyone is so fond of you.”
His harsh words cut inadvisable wounds. Tears began to pool in your eyes, threatening to fall. Your heart felt as if it shattered into a million tiny pieces.
A whimper fell from your lips, somehow being the only sound you could manage. As tears began streaming down your cheeks before a sob shook through your body. Daring to glance at him, his expression softened as he made a movement to reach out and touch you.
Your body involuntarily winced, causing him to freeze his actions.
“I...I think you should go.” You strangled out.
“Y/N...”
Opening your door, you held it open for him not bothering to look at him.
He let out a sigh before leaving your room.
Since your last encounter with him, you hadn’t ventured out of your room for much more than a bite to eat. The rest of the team noticed, trying to coax you out of your room.
It was a late night, one that you were practically struggling to sleep. There was a soft knock on your door, signalling you weren’t the only one struggling.
Shock coursed through your veins as y/c/n met a familiar ocean pair.
“Y/N.” He spoke catching the door, as you immediately attempted to shut it. “Please.” Loki pleaded, his eyes filled with sorrow.
“Why should I?” You hissed. “So you can let me know just how much of a useless human I am?”
“No, I-”
“I don’t care.” You cut him off, not caring to hear his explanation. Before you knew it, you were sitting on your bed while Loki stood cautiously in front of you.
“I’m sorry.”
Scoffing you rolled your eyes.
“That day.” He let out a frustrated sigh. “I...I was scared. I was scared you were going to get terribly hurt. I wouldn’t know what I would have done if you did.”
Looking down at your hands, you shook your head. “Not your problem.”
“I want it to be my problem.” He spoke, kneeling in front of you placing a hand on your cheek. “I care about you deeply.”
You raised your gaze to his eyes.
“I can see why my brother is so fond of a brave human like you.”
He leaned forward, nuzzling his nose against yours. His lips centimetres in front of yours, as if he was afraid of kissing you. Lacing one of your hands through his hair, you closed the small space. His lips were surprisingly soft. It wasn’t a long kiss, but enough to say everything his voice couldn’t.
Pulling away, you rested your foreheads against each other, before crawling back under the covers. Lifting up the edge of it, you silently invited him to join you. His unsure gaze held your confident one. Slowly, he slid under the blankets. Making himself comfortable he wrapped his arms around you, tugging you impossibly closer, as your head rested on his chest. The sound of his heart thumping, was enough of a melody for you to fall asleep.

The first thing Faolán had to do was pack his belongings, they did not permit Captains to live the barracks with the ‘lower ranks’ meaning he needed his own home. It was odd to feel more nervous about finding a new home than being named Captain but here he was being shown round the third home available to purchase and he was still nervous.
He had lived in the barracks over the centuries; it had been more of a home than the place he had was raised in. To him the barracks had been his only true home, a place that was comfortable and safe.
Now as he looked around his new home, he found himself increasingly nervous, there was so much to do. Things he had never had to think about before, like decorating and deciding what colours the walls should be.
He had started the day in his newly assigned office within the palace, most people just continued on as normal. However, those close to Signar had attempted to make his first day as Captain go as miserably as possible, thankfully they were becoming an increasingly small number so all Faolán had to worry about was decorating his new office and paperwork.
Lots and lots of paperwork. Nobody had warned him about the volume of paperwork that would be tossed his way. So much paperwork! Just thinking about it made him miserable, Signar’s friends could not compete against the mountain of paperwork that had piled up on his desk after one day.
