(wow canonically gay POC character, I bet he’s in a lot of fic /sarcasm/)Or how about Scott McCall, Jacob Black and all the Twilight werewolves, Sam Wilson, James Rhodes, Nick Fury, Alan Deaton (just to name a few men in fandoms I’ve been in)Second, being killed off doesn’t preclude characters from being celebrated in fanfic, especially AU fanfic. I mean, really? What’s the reasoning for Boyd not being in 100% of TW high school AUs? His pointless and enraging death should be all the more reason for him to be included in transformative fix-it fanfic.Jfc I’ve probably seen more fic where all the Hales are alive than I’ve seen Boyd-centric fics (or even Danny-centric fics!! The living, breathing, canonically gay character of color!) If Stiles and Derek can star in a bajillion fanfics where the All-Alive! Hale family sells homemade artisan jams at the farmer’s market, or nerdy!Derek hand-knits cat-hair sweaters, or where Stiles works as a kindergarten teacher- Then I HOPE we can have as many fanfics where Boyd and Scott get married, regardless of the poor decisions made in canon.This is fanfic, anon, we can’t blame canon for fanon’s shitty behavior, which is often worse than actual canon and contributes to canon treating underappreciated characters with neglect
