Ramble

Love's kind of a ψeird subject to talk about, especially ψithin the context of Alternia. Everything surrounding the planet talks about ψar and hatred and fighting, and of forcing people into relationships for the good of reproduction. But other than fictional media, there's not much about love in the context of that planet. Oh, there's a lot of fucking. Tons. But not much love ψithin that talk.

Noψ before I get into it big time, I'm gonna put this under a read more.This is really more of a ramble rant than anything.

Everyone ψants the next hot piece of ass, but no one seems to ψant everything that comes betψeen those periods of sexual activity. The periods ψhere all you do ψith another person is lay ψith them and look into their eyes. The periods ψhere you're trying to talk, but you're getting tongue tied and they still understand ψhat you're trying to say. Periods ψhere you feel like your blood pusher is going to burst just from them existing. Yeah, this is telltale matespritship, but ψhen have you actually heard someone talk about these things outside of cliched romance novels and movies?

It's horrible to think about, that Alternia is a loveless planet, but I think it is. There's this thing on Earth called a "family" and it's one of the most intimate platonic relationships a person can have, and it feels so natural. There's so much care and love poured into such relationships. I can't even begin to explain, because you can't explain it until you've felt it.

I'm actually kind of scared for this planet. They feel all these different things, but they don't express them properly to others, so over time more and more people are coming to find they don't understand ψhat a healthy relationship is like. ψhat a healthy dose of love is like. They can't feel it genuinely, so they don't express these feelings properly. The cycle just goes on and on, and I absolutely hate it! You can't just go up to someone you really like and tell them "oh, I love you" or "oh, I like you". You have to beat around the fucking bush until they realize hoψ you feel and then decide ψhether or not they want to cuddle.

And that's another thing. Cuddling and kissing is really all that's expressed as being done for the most part, outside of the romance novels that are highly unrealistic. That's not it. Love is ψorking to make the person you care for happy. Love is ψaking up every day and realizing hoψ much you ψant to exist, to be around the person you care for. Love is making things ψork because you care so much. Making things ψork, and for fuck's sake finding more reasons to love that person you care for even more.

And you knoψ ψhat ψigglers are being taught? That not feeling love is okay. You don't have to love your matesprit, you just have to pity them. PITY ISN'T LOVE!!! Pity is an entirely different feeling. ψhen you actually love someone, it's a quadrant-bypassing feeling that might even make you end up in multiple quadrants all at once!

But look. The bottom line is that I can't stand by and just ψatch the ψorld burn like I used to. I just ψant to shoψ Alternia hoψ to love so they can leave all the violence behind. It might not be a perfect society (no society is), but it'll be a more peaceful, happy, fulfilled one.
