I definitely prefer having no gender marker on my health card to the hypothetical X I could put on my other legal id, but

1) Some people don’t pass as a cis person of either binary gender and are always ‘out’ whether they like it or not, well before they show any kind of ID

2) There would be so many easier ways for the government to find out your trans status if they wanted to make A List than to add an opt-in third category. Why would they even want to track nonbinary people specifically and not just all trans people?

In fact, here in Ontario, getting an X on certain documents is the only kind of gender marker change where you don’t need to provide documentation of transition. Anyone can ask for an X on a driver’s license or passport for any reason. Since it’s done on a per-document basis, you could even put an X on one and keep M/F on the other

(This isn’t an angry discourse post, it’s just explanatory as to why some people might want this option to exist where they live.)

Ooohhhh so what's Josh like? Is he in a certain genre of game? (Like how Evander is in the fallout universe) if youve mentioned him before I haven't seen it.

hes the vault dweller from fallout 1, tho his timeline is a lot different from how canon goes, and hes also technically in fo2/fnv

tbh hes a fucking asshole. hes got very little that he regrets in life. some fun facts/quick timeline for him:

he was born breech and it ended up killing his mom. his father, the overseer before jacoben, thought he was a bad omen and that hed bring death wherever he goes. so he definitely didnt have a good relationship with his dad. or the rest of the vault in fact. hes got CD [ conduct disorder ] too

the reason hes sent out of vault 13 is still the problem of the water chip, but THE THING IS they lied to him just so they could get him out. he wiped out a bunch of raiders and basically exterminated the children of the cathedral. etc etc

he gets to mariposa finally and the radiation is extremely thick in there. he ends up slowly becoming a ghoul, but its a while before he even shows any signs aside from mild skin peeling. he gets back to vault 13, finds out they lied to him, and so he kills jacoben and steals the vaults external override code off his corpse. and then he basically sets the inside of vault 13 on fire and kills everyone inside

after he left that area of california, he met a woman named carmina. they had twins named cece and toni. a little while after the twins first birthday, carmina and cece were killed while caravaning. josh took toni and ran off to new reno.

flash forward to when toni is an adult. josh is fully ghoulified at this point. toni runs off with a man and comes back pregnant, and gives birth to brandon, the chosen one in fo2. when brandon is three, toni dies of pneumonia and leaves josh to take care of his grandson alone.

josh teaches him how to fight, how to defend himself, and teaches brandon reading, writing and math. they eventually migrate to the den. 10 years later, brandon is 15 and he leaves the den. josh follows, unable to bear being alone. the events of fo2 transpire, etc etc. 17 years later, brandon is shot and killed by a new khan and bleeds out before josh finds him.

josh decides hes had enough of california, and leaves for the mojave. he eventually meets benny and swank, as children, and takes care of them when their settlement was razed by the legion. he doesnt see much of benny once him and swank grow up, but he saw them as his own children much like brandon.

the ncr wins the second battle of the dam, and thats really. all i have

everything is a mess and i have 0 idea how to make it NOT a mess and i am. angry at the world and maybe i have more than earned the right to that anger but i sure as hell don’t fucking want it 

the only good thing about this holding cell bedroom is that the walls have bamboo trapped under the paint for some unknown reason which means that presently running my hand over it should possibly restart my brain because it shut down! again!

i just want this to be over i either want death or to be 15 years into the future where everything isn’t as fucking hellish as it is right now because it’s not fair and obviously life isn’t fair but that’s used in the context of not getting what you want all the time but this is different because when has life ever treated me fairly in the first place and.

there has to be an answer to everything and purely “they were bad people” is not ENOUGH, bad people doesn’t explain what any of them did, it doesn’t explain Why Me, it doesn’t explain why it was only ever me, so the only other answer is it was My fault which sure as hell explains a lot more, somehow

maybe i should just. take advice from the tailbone incident and tell myself everything is fine until the trauma no longer exists but as usual i can only remember i can’t forget and [redacted, on second thought]

in summary: dissociating, partially in breakdown mode, don’t know how to fix, life is great, this is almost definitely going to pull out the override and restart function

ummm.. So... one time I accidently killed a (mediterranean spotted common) gecko while trying to catch it, I felt so terrible about it because it wasn't fair at all. (all of the geckos I mention in this are mediterranean common spotted geckos). A few days ago I see a gecko where the door meets the wall when I closes, and there was a gecko that had probably been squished there estimately about a week ago due to the state of the corpse. It was really bad. And today I woke up and I looked at one of my gloves on the side of my bed and saw this thing on one of my gloves and I thought it was some sort of woodchip. It wasn't, it was the top half of a dead gecko, it was a fairly old corpse because it was very dry, but not as far as probably 2 months killed. I do not know what's going on, idk if this has to do with the gecko I accidently killed one day or somethig completely different. but the gecko on my glove was not there before.

if u wanna know whats worse than being an only child consider: having 3 older brothers who are super close but don't want anything to do with you. being excluded from everything they do. being alone all the time bc they don't like you. being the butt of the joke all the time. having ur crying as a coping mechanism made fun of too. knowing full well that you're not part of the family to them.

how do you develop your own style?? im trying to but whenever i draw with out reference it looks bad and discourages me..... do you have any tips or anything you did to develop your style??

Ok, i have very many style honestly. They usually stem from my huge art divots. I don’t call them art blocks because i’m not blocked from anything, rather, I dug a familiar rut for me to walk in. As much as I’d like to keep a style, the art divot makes me self-conscious and self-degrading if a newer drawing does not match “The Style” that I had.

Don’t be discouraged about your pieces without references! Honestly keep on using references!!! And Definitely I encourage doing drawings by observation!

My personal art story... started with me slowly becoming aware that I had an eye and hand for visual art. At first I didn’t use many references since I was REALLY young and didn’t mind inaccuracy (well i did but it isnt anatomically realistic). But I found out (in 5th-8th grade) that working from observation ( drawing from life) helps strengthen methods in observing, color, shape, style, shadow, line, perspective, etc.

When i say observing I mean the way you see an object. Your observing can change a lot, especially for young people because our minds are still thick with growth. Mine, changes very often and is very frustrating for me. But the more you draw from observation, I am sure your skills will start to solidify, even if you don’t see it! You will most likely see it when you start drawing without observation with references or without references. 

You may become frustrated because you can’t tell the difference in you art. You won’t be able to tell, unless you step back and take you negative emotions towards your art aside.

For your subjects that you choose to draw from life i suggest drawing things that people usually abhor and avoid drawing such as laptops, chairs, tables, feet, hands, using weird angles, plates of food, silverware, birds, etc. PLease PLEASEPLEASEPLAepelasplease Have a notebook on you are all time so you can draw whenever you get the drawing urge, EVEN if you haven’t had an instance of being mad you don’t have a piece of paper. You will be one day... and you be super mad.... Basically what I’m saying is, draw any time you have the chance! Wherever you may be! Good art work comes from lots of practicing!!

PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP! Art is something of time! whenever you see your art, even if it is not your best, always look back an reflect the time spent on it. That is your dedication.
