i'm getting so sick of the "[new writer/developer]'s OC" argument

it's a buzzword that doesn't mean anything other than it's not what they're used to. it's not constructive in any way, and making fun of OC's is very outdated now

not to mention the cycle of revisionist history... the latest character is mocked for being a blatant OC, then in years' time, they're a beloved classic character and everyone forgets their initial reputation. and so it repeats.
