of posts on Pinterest: ““how to look EXPENSIVE”. Not how to look elegant, or how to look great, or fashionable, or stylish. EXPENSIVE is the thing. The advice is not directed at sex workers;  if I’d be one, then yes, would prefer to look like an expensive one rather than a cheap one. It is directed at an average woman. I  don’t get it. Is is one of the American things I don’t understand? Please explain this to me 🙏🏼

The thing about looking expensive.

And no, by expensive I do not mean like someone can buy me.

Many people, including me, like nice–expensive–out-of-my-budget type of clothing. No one can deny that J.Crew, Michael Kors, Lilly Pulitzer, Tory Burch, have beautiful clothing. It’s a fact. But let’s face it, the prices of those stores are out of the budget of many, many, many people, and sometimes, we just want to embrace our inner Blair Waldorf.

Kind of sad, no? Well, that’s why we are here!

Even if you think that Forever21, H&M, and stores like them are over-rated and their clothing is ugly. Well, I’m afraid to tell you that you may be wrong. It’s true that most of the clothes of these stores are not made with really good quality, and, in my opinion, not my style. Where was I going? Oh yes.

Well my friend, sometimes is possible to find nice clothes there. A pretty button down shirt, a cute sweater, a J.Crew dupe necklace, you can find them there. And, if I’m being honest here, TJ Maxx and Marshalls, and even in Ross, you can be able to find some good sweaters and shirts for a really good price! All it takes is some patience and a lot of enthusiasm for fashion, because nothing is easy in this life.
