Ship: Lily bainbridge x Ronnie grogan

Summary: After a while of Lily keeping her feelings for Ronnie bottled up, she gathers the courage to finally confess her love to her, when everything goes south, fast.

"Come on Lily. You've got this. remember what we practiced. The worst she can say is no." Marge tries to calm Lily down. Lily was planning to take a walk around derry with Ronnie before having a picnic on the grass in the park before letting Ronnie know how she really feels. "Are you sure she'll like me back? maybe it won't hurt to just keep this to myself, right?" lily babbles nervously. "No, Lilly. you're gonna go there and confess your feelings like a champ, no buts. I´ve seen the way you guys glance at each other and the way you secretly hold hands...even though it's pretty obvious."

Marge escorts lily to her apartment door and grabs both her hands. "listen Lily. You can do this, I believe in you and at the end of the day, if Ronnie ends up not feeling the same way, Ill still be here, willing to be there for you. Ok, time for you to go, good luck!" Lily hugs her one more time then heads out to pick Ronnie up at her apartment.

She knocks and the door instantly flies open. "Hi ,Lily. I'm ready, Let's go." Lily calms down slightly at the sight of Ronnie. For the next 30 min they walk around the shops in derry, and talk about the different snacks they brought for the picnic.

As they sit on the grass, while still talking and laughing with each other, Lily almost forgets the main reason they were there in the first place. As they pack out the snacks and lay them up on the blanket, lily begins speaking: "Ronnie, I wanted to tell you something..." she continues as soon as Ronnie nods "Ronnie, I have feelings for you. Ive had them ever since we've met at your apartment because of what happened to Matty...It´s like he led me to you. I just need to know... Do you feel the same?" Silence stands between them for what seems like an eternity.Before Ronnie starts speaking ; "Lily... you know how people are about girls liking each other..." "Yeah but-" "no, Lily, no buts. Im sorry... We're just friends, that's the only way we can be socially acceptable."

Lily stares at her in disappointment before she stands up abruptly. "I'm sorry,Ronnie... I have to go" she says, her voice trembling. Ronnie looks down just as Disappointed as Lily.

Lilly runs the entire way to marge's house and knocks frantically. as soon as Marge opens her door she falls into her arms in tears. "She said we're just friends..."
