For the clanwide questions, can we ask other the other clans with them? If we can, 💚, Are there any poly Duskclan cats?
As a matter of fact there are!
Meet the old lady yuri throuple.
I made this trio a few months ago bc they’re parents of a new saltclan addition (we’ll meet the cat in a few moons)
They’re not the only poly cats in duskclan but they are the cutest. I modeled them after how irl female cats will raise their kits together. They’ve had multiple litters over the years and are all retired.
They’re fairly low on the hierarchy compared to other duskclan cats we’ve met but they’re great background characters and it makes me happy to have a bunch of little old ladies in love living their best lives in the background.
I'm getting the sense that a lot of the issues plaguing our family/country are due to Grandmother's actions and resulting madness, is that so?
And if so, will we ever get the chance to tell our father that he needs to get off his throne and actually do something to deal with that or that it'll just keep festering as long as he's just hoping it'll go away?
It’s more complicated than that and will be further explored throughout the story. Theian culture is quite prideful and places great emphasis on family, legacy, and social hierarchies/respect—as such, the people and royal family revered Vikaria as a prophetess and self-proclaimed god-empress. Only Mc’s father and Lady Safina seem to speak of her with more reticence.
MC’s grandmother brought about an era of pride and wealth to Theia through her conquest and had the people’s support—the details of her war on Starfell and the war with Celestyl will be expounded on in-game, but the name of the ‘Mad Empress’ Celestyl gave to Empress Vikaria is one Theians take as an insult. The issues plaguing Theia rn are ones the people blame Starfell and Celestyl for. There are several different sides to the story, and the game will cover those and force a shift in MC’s perspective.
So first, a question, do all the papas in the western AU play acoustic guitar or do some play banjo, mandolin or other instruments as well? I like to picture Terzo specifically playing Spanish guitar.
And second, may I recommend the podcast Old Gods of Appalachia, is is horror and has some great vibes as well as music that make me think of the western AU,
The songs “I cannot escape the darkness”, “crooked man” and “God’s dark heaven” by the band Those Poor Bastards especially give me western au mood
None of them plays any instrument in this AU! It's not music-related at all, there is no equivalent of the Ghost project, and not really any ghouls – if/when some appear, they're probably going to be human-like characters. So no guitar or banjos for the papas here. I didn't even use the trope of cowboys playing the harmonica in the fic so far so you see how detached the story is from music 😅 These devil worshippers are too busy shooting stuff, riding horses across the prairie, performing rituals and being caught in family drama. The only character who is seen with an instrument is Omega with his guitar (just like on his character sheet).
Thank you for these recommendations! I'll definitely look into it as soon as I have the time, it looks right up my alley 👍 Thanks for sharing and for your ask!! <3
do you ever think of clown and branzy in s4 as the old couple living in the rickety house down the street (except it's a castle) and rek is the stray black cat who comes by every week to drop a dead fish at their doorstep
-phoenix anon
OH MY PHOENIX ANON YOU SHOUDN’T HAVE ASKED. BECAUSE BOY YOU SURE BET I DO. you can see my old post on my fave s4 ideas but i generally tend to approach s4 with a ‘rek reacts to the weird shit clownzy is doing’ approach.
s4 was crazy with the damsel roleplay and we don’t need to get into that, but rekrap ALSO doesn’t want to get into that, in my mind. and yet somehow he keeps getting roped into their shenanigans. he keeps coming back.
i fully believe branzys only gripe with being ‘trapped’ in the castle would be not getting to hang out with rek, and not getting to be a menace to the server with clown, and so this is why i think he would make up elaborate scenarios to get rek there to hang out.
i also think that in their exile, clown and branzy get like, 10 times worse in terms of oddness, affection and general offputting gay vibes to everyone and rekrap coming to visit is like exposure therapy.
I don't know if anyone had talked about this regarding Vanya's curse (or maybe his family's too) before but I noticed that in the Heartopia trailer where before the pink haired girl moved pass Vanya when he was fishing, his fishing line snapped. Then if you see his 5stars sculpture, the fishing line also snapped or not connected to the fish.
Perhaps I was thinking too hard on this but maybe it's a solid example of his (and, maybe, his family's) "curse"? or perhaps it's just to show how he's actually just not THAT good at fishing?
My theory that I had discussed with a couple of friends before is that he actually used to be very good at fishing, literally how he got his badges and titles, but something "happened" that made him "terrible" at fishing. Thus the only thing he could rely on now is his knowledge in fishing theory. It may sound a bit far fetched but there's that.
Thank you for your time reading this, I love your researches on the lores in the game! ^^
I also had a theory kind of similar to that, but hadn't found enough sources that supported it yet. Well, until you reminded me about the Vanya Snow Statue!!! Call my theory far-fetched as well, but here's my theory so far: (Read more below, ~300 words of text)
Vanya's family is considered the best anglers (Loading Text), but they either learnt too much / pissed off a deity by calling themselves the best anglers and got cursed. Hence why nobody wants to take first place for fishing any more (Vanya's dialogue). This curse takes the form of making his whole family unable to fish, no matter what. He notes that the key to fishing is patience (Early-Game Vanya Dialogue), which could possibly allude to him not being able to properly concentrate enough to do so. As a final resort, if he WERE even able to attract a fish, the line WILL break no matter what. Vanya's first introduction to us even has him asking us for a toolkit for his broken fishing rod. All depictions of him fishing end in him losing the fish.
As well summarised by the Fishing Lover of all people, "Some people can't catch fish, not because the fish won't bite, but because they snap the line themselves." which parallels Vanya's experience. Perhaps this is why he has dedicated himself to the theoritical sciences of angling instead, even developing the mermaid lure for over 6 Stars (Equivalent to years) (Theoretical Studies in Angling released in Star 114, and when publishing player's books the date is Star 120, hence 6 years)?
Vanya seems to really dislike the fact he's cursed, and tries to play it off cool, claiming the player should test his inventions instead of him (upon recieving the mermaid lure). This is why he is never spotted fishing (Loading Text) - he doesn't want his condition to be exposed.
...Also, thank YOU for checking out my blog while I go insane trying to run around the map and remember where all the unlabelled NPCs are and which I've talked to, or perhaps go in and out of building mode to find one specific loading text for 15 minutes straight because I couldn't find it in my pile of unorganised photos! It's quite nice to know I'm not the only person interested in this sort of thing~
hi !!! i really like what i've seen of your au so far, and your art is amazing i love the way you draw everyone (especially the bad sanses, i love when people portray them as a found family :3 )
i was wondering if you had like, a post or something where you explained the main plot/story?? i'm very interested in your au and i'd like to know more about the lore
have a nice day/night !! (◕ᴗ◕✿)
Hello! I'm glad you're enjoying my little au, fellow found family enjoyer, I really appreciate your kind words! :D
To answer your question, Really Chill Verse is an ongoing story told through small snapshots in time. The plot is gradually being revealed with the release of artworks tagged with #lore tag. It's for this reason that there's no post explaining the main storyline, as to avoid spoiling the experience for anyone following the AU.
I will probably eventually make a masterpost of the artwork in order of release, but it should be noted that the story isn't being released chronologically. For now, here are four key facts that we know so far:
Some time ago, an event caused The Tear to rip open the multiverse, altering the structure of reality.
Because of this, Ink is currently experiencing a seemingly endless drought of paint and is suffering through the effects of starvation.
At some point, Dream made an honest mistake, but we're not sure what it was.
After an event several months ago, Nightmare fell into a coma and shows no signs of waking.
This probably raises more questions, sorry about that, but all will be answered with time! I'm really enjoying telling this story thus far, and I hope you'll like what's to come. Thank you again for your question, and I hope you have an amazing day/night. :D
Considering that the vessels are alive will they make an appearance or help hornet in silksong?
The whole AU is a fix-it so it's hard to say if/how/when Silksong would happen. At the very least I think the bugs of Pharloom would find it quite impossible to subdue her when she has a few hundred tall, immortal, god-and-void siblings backing her up.
