{ ♔ — Their love for movies was kind of what brought them closer as friends. This time the movie night was to be scheduled at Sangmin’s home, which was pleasing to the eye. Every time the girl would walk into his apartment she couldn’t help but stare in awe, it was breathtaking. With someone of his status she wasn’t surprised, but what did surprise her wasn’t stuck up, it was something she appreciated. The two sat on his couch in the dark, watching Marvel movie ( one of her favourites ). Her blond locks spread across the back of the couch, halfway through the film she could feel his fingers brushing through them. The action made her feel sleepy and more relaxed. ❝Hm.. Are you trying to put me to sleep?❞ She offered a lazy smile as she looked over at him.
❝ Is it too intruding to utter honest words for a moment? Ah.. Well.. You're quite beautiful, has anybody told you that? ❞ // THIS IS A RANDOM STARTER hope you don't mind! ;;
The words came out of nowhere and after he approached her, she wasn’t expecting a compliment to be followed by his very first statement. Seolri looked at him with her nose scrunched up in a rather childlike manner, she was loss for words. It came out of nowhere and she never really knew how to accept compliments. Dipping her head into a slight bow, she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she observed the man in front of her, cheeks turning red.
“Thank you, t- that’s such a wonderful way to greet someone.” A playful laughter escaped her lips, despite being the shy girl she had always been, she couldn’t help but to feel thankful that someone took their time of the day to say such nice things to her. Clearing her throat in an attempt to not displaying the awkwardness that she had always possessed, she fixed her gaze upon him with a sweet smile of hers. “Some have mentioned it, but not too often. I’m sorry if I’m... rather awkward, compliments don’t come my way too much. I never really know how-- how to take them.”
She supposed she should’ve learnt by then that running her mouth was never a smart idea. Especially not when she had been caught up in a social event where she was expected to act her role of a filial daughter and the poster child of her father’s business. Sure, the smile plastered on her face could fool just about any guest milling through the crowd of Seoul’s most influential, but the boredom she was experiencing must’ve resulted in her approaching a familiar face around (at least one that wasn’t above the age of fifty with greying hair).
Perhaps getting herself into a conversation with Sangmin had been her second stupidest decision of that evening (the first being even willing to attend this ridiculous party), but she sure as hell hadn’t been expecting him to get this mad over her usual snide remarks of the crowd. A customary ‘god, look at what he’s wearing!’ (amidst other comments) and she had herself wind up in what might just be known as the most ridiculous argument of the year.
They were fighting over the male’s choice of outfit for the evening.
She’d eventually ran out of people to discuss, and it was inevitable that her attention would fall on him. She had said he’d look a million times better in a grey suit instead, and then they were off. Him insisting that he would look presentable in just about any other colour and her, well, rolling her eyes and giving him judging snorts and scoffs. It wasn’t rare to see someone get mad at her, but it definitely wasn’t to the point of having her pushed up against the wall with their lips locked.
Of course, she hadn’t minded it that much, but considering that they were making a scene in front of quite the crowd, she had to act quickly.
Arms moving to shove him off (albeit with much difficulty), she feigned the look of utter bewilderment before demanding after the prolonged period of silence between the pair, “Just what do you think you’re doing?!”
meme: send me ‘ hc ‘ + a word and i’ll write a headcanon about it regarding my character.
don’tjudge a book by it’s cover they say- but how else are you supposed to knowit’ll be up to par without sitting down to read it, and risk discovering300 pages later than you’ve royally wasted your time? no- sunah always firmlybelieved that appearances were important. not everything- but close.
herconstant need for validation (thanks mom) expressed itself in many ways; one ofthe most obvious would be how she tried to control the way people perceivedher- sometimes by censoring herself, other times through little white lies (ohme? i study physics at snu)
clothingwas naturally another facet of her trying to control the little she could; amake believe as she tried to pretend who she wanted to be- her clothing didafter all represent the duality in her life. the girl who has failed yet keepstrying with less dignity each time. or just the stark contrast between herlifelong dream and her much less shiny reality.
and so, if caught off guard or just busy in the relative comfort she could find in huge cements buildings and windowless practice rooms- her incarnation of the athletic girl who has spent most of her life in dance studios is obvious. her clothing is almost on the default background dancer in practice videos; calculated to look effortless on those days where she knows she’d sweat off any makeup- days she’d train from dawn to dusk (those were always surprisingly comforting to her).
the other part of this unbalanced yin and yang was the one where she tried to be what she wasn’t but craved. shopping had always been an outlet for her, a therapy, but as things went downhill it went out of hand- same for her luxurious tastes. she relishes in the gaudy and ostentatious. it’s not important if others think it’s ugly- as long as they know it was expensive. ( but her credit card debts pile up and she can only squeeze so much out of a foolish man- each new item is an extra nail in her coffin)
in the end it was fitting; the flashy clothing represented her perfectly. a try hard. a failure. the celebrity she never was trying to show the money shenever had in the first place
prompt: for every 🍂 I get, I’ll reveal one of the most important people in my muse’s life.
@yukosao ; Koo Keaton
Keaton! My best friend forever, the kind with the matching necklaces, rings, and shit. Thanks for coming into my life, or, well, I messaged you first. Anyway, you’ve impacted my life so much. From doing dumb things such as pretending it’s New Year’s, or daring each other to do things, you’re by far my favorite. It’s spending time with you that makes me realize that there are better things to life, and also that there is someone out there that thinks exactly like I do. So yeah, Keaton, you mean a lot to me. Keep doing you, and never change, ever. I’m glad that I can make you smile when you’re down, and vice versa. You the one.
