Just got done playing "Yes, Your Grace" and I can't get Lorsulia out of my head. There are so many choices in this game that seem like they're going to be important and lead to branching paths, but in the end the game is just as much a paradox as being a king: you have all the power, and at the same time no power at all. You can build your armies, save your money, distribute resources evenly...but in the end nothing is enough. In the end, you can't save everyone.
She knew this. Lorsulia could only watch with dying hope from hundreds of miles away as you struggled to build an army formidable enough to withstand Ivo's. She knew her sacrifice was a permanent one. Even if you had the resources to buy her a rescue party, Ivo had far more to kill her first.
At least she had one moment of agency. She could have kept her mouth shut and lived a day, maybe a week longer. But she chose to warn you instead. The life of a princess for the lives of her family, and thousands of innocent people.
