I am once again begging people to realize that AI checker doesn’t work. it’s never worked. it’s notoriously known to have flagged human-made works as AI and AI-generated works as human-made. and by feeding it people’s works, you are feeding more works to AI, because apparently the machine itself is AI.

the only thing AI checker does is harm genuine artists and people in general too.

#Reminds me of courses where you were required to upload your papers to plagiarism checkers #And in the beginning (like HS) teachers drew a hardline at like 5% before they seriously investigated a paper #By the end of college‚ professors were saying less than 20% is fine #Bc it was marking papers like crazy for (checks notes) having your name on them. Or you used the same source as someone else.#Like congrats you trained your plaigiarism checker on papers written by people so it detects writing by those people #Good job!#Same exact principle here. Human writing shows up as AI generated bc the AI is trained on human writing.

I have so much appreciation for the Lovestruck Salvation Squad project and how well they archived the game

These writers wrote 17M words across 5.6k episodes, and the artists drew over 50k assets. They created such lovely stories, especially for sapphic women, and such a variety of them! Their work deserves to be preserved

I think this is so cool and it's awesome they're streaming games for free! I also think it's incredible that this picture is the one they used to advertise the opening day. It's like those videos where someone threatens the camera while their partner shows off their collection of rocks they found.

Something neuroscience-y that helps with prose: attention is selective. A character will not notice everything in a room. They will notice what matters to their goal, fear, desire, training, wound, or obsession. A jealous character notices hands. a hungry character notices food. A soldier notices exits. A lonely character notices pairs. Description becomes character when attention has a bias.

#I've been playing a lot of old games recently‚ and it's been making me think of smth similar #Like how many secret areas/alternative paths in games like Spyro aren't even really hidden #But they definitely were placed somewhere that your attention would gloss over if you were more focused on smth else #(completing a specific platforming section‚ taking out an enemy‚ etc)#It's just been making me think of smth similar. A character walks into a room for x purpose‚ what y does that make them see?#And what z does that make them miss?
