There was a crash in the entrance hall of White Hat’s manor. Slug stood shakily, his entire body trembling violently. His head was gone. A plume of black smoke came out of the severed neck. He couldn’t scream. He couldn’t make any noise. He couldn’t see where his head was. For the first time in quite a few years, the dullahan was legitimately terrified.

I expect this to be bad. I am prepared for the worst. I know that I am walking into something that I will kick myself for if it turns out the way I worry it will. So why? Why will I let myself walk so close to the trigger? To the danger? To losing my head? Because I want to be wrong. Not all people are bad. Not all people hurt others. I want to see that. I need to do this for me and I don't expect anyone to understand. I will accept the damage if it causes any but I am prepared in ways I hope will be enough.
