DTIYS for @tweve-draws Instagram challenge!!! :]
Ellie severely fucked up her arm on a mission. Now she has a prosthetic one. (Doc V wasn’t available.) She’s pretty self conscious about it, but Right’s there to lend a hand. (And his heart. This man has a crush.)
Ellie felt awful ever since that day. Sure trying to punch an engine to stop a group of criminals wasn't her smartest move, but she had to do something to stop them and get back the treasure that they stole first.
Ellie stares at that flesh covered not quite plastic that was her new arm. She hates wearing it, she feels like the whole world looks at her for it and she feels like she is weaker because of it.
Ellie plopped down on her chair and sighed, before a knock on her door got her attention. She told Right to come in, knowing the familiar sound of metal knocking on metal. Right came in, and at one look at Ellie, scooped her up in his arms and sat her down on his lap.
Right asks Ellie what is the matter, but Ellie just looks at her prosthetic arm on the table and Right figures it out fairly quickly.
Right starts telling Ellie how miserable he was when he first got his cybernetics, how he felt weaker and less human, how hard it was to walk or even grab things with his right hand. He saw the stares and glares people gave him and just felt pretty badly.
But Right got better with his cybernetics and people just stopped staring or caring about his different limbs. And some days are still tough, but they are manageable, especially with a cute red head to look it.
Ellie let out a giggle before reaching to grab her prosthetic arm. Right was gentle with helping her put it on, and after adjusting it abit, Ellie put on her coat and Right opened the door for Ellie, kissing her human hand before they went about their day.
Upon the call of death, what will you do?

Marielle woke slowly to the sound of someone humming and the steady thump-whirr-thump of a spinning wheel. Ugh, everything felt sore. Moving hurt. She was so tired. But someone was humming and Marielle was wired in her hindbrain to join in. She trilled weakly and tried to whistle along, but her attempts were little better than a babe’s.
The humming woman turned, and smiled at Marielle with a mouth half full of gums. She was a giantess, which made sense in hindsight. Her scales were a dull red with yellow striping, her skin the same sunless beige as Yuiko’s but wrinkly, gnarled at her knuckles. Her almond eyes were squinty with heavy laugh lines, and Marielle found they made her look kind, which soothed her somewhat.
“Well look who’s awake,” she greeted, the words a little garbled thanks to the missing teeth. “Let’s get some water in ya. Lost a lot of blood, you did.”
Marielle let herself be moved, half-sitting now against the rim of some form of nest. The water felt heavenly in her cottony mouth, settling her twisting stomach by increments. It was faintly embarrassing to need to be assisted in the simple task of drinking, but Marielle was grateful for the elder’s aid.
“You stayin’ awake long enough for Yuiko to come say hi?”
Marielle nodded. She was exhausted, but didn’t need to sleep again right away.
“Bitchin.”
Whumptober: Got It
Whumptober Prompt: I’ve Got You — Carrying — Keith
Got It
Summary: The scene in front of Keith didn’t change no matter how many times he blinked. Dead Galran commander. Downed sentries. Flashing alarm lights. And his right leg, lying there while he sat here in a growing puddle of blood.

Aside from the recent lockdown, what's the craziest/busiest day any of you have seen during your tenures as medical professionals? - Birdie
Thomas: The day after the lockdown. I thought I had a lot of damage control to do during the lockdown. I was wrong. I was so wrong. At least I got that week’s suspension afterwards and was able to relax? Eh...
Joan: Thomas’s job was exhausting. Not doing medicine was more stressful than any day of practicing it.
Patton: Besides the quarantine, there was one time when an entire school got food poisoning. I can’t believe a school could be that negligent!
Virgil, scoffing: That would have to be every day before I joined Sanders.
Emile: Do you know that scene in Over the Garden Wall where a man is trapped in a gorilla costume and stampedes around terrorizing people? Replace that with a Mickey Mouse costume during my med school rotations.
Talyn: There was a big wreck on the highway out of Miami with some buses. I was running around all day talking to people.
Dr. D: Work never ends for a surgeon. Being busy is part of the job. I could hardly pick a certain day as my toughest.
*Logan takes a moment. He adjusts some papers and doesn’t look at you.*
Logan: Well, that answer is simple. It would be the day I lost my leg.
Welcome back friendo, hope the testing went well! Can I get headcanons for Yang, Weiss, and winter with an S/O with a synthetic limb who's starting to feel self-conscious about the parts of them that they've lost
Hey there! It’s nice to be back to writing after a couple weeks. I’m fairly confident on my exams. Anyway~ Here you go.
———–
Yang:
Yang definitely understands what her s/o is going through, having lost a limb herself she understands how hard it can be to feel capable again
She’ll do everything within her power to make you feel good enough without what you’ve lost
Whether that be training you to fight again with the synthetic limb or decorating it so it’s your own personal thing
She’ll give you constant reassurance of how much she loves you, how good you look, how amazing you are, and so on
She’s very supportive of whatever you want to do to make you happy
If you ever say anything about you not being pretty anymore she will fight you
Not actually
But she will be angry
She’s having nothing to do with you not being confident about yourself
Weiss:
She doesn’t really understand. How can you feel self-conscious about something? You’re amazing in her eyes
She eventually works out what’s wrong though
She’ll have the best protection made for you
Functional and beautiful!
She’ll even design it herself
Happy birthday
If that doesn’t help she’ll shower you with praise and adoration
This is the best she can do to help
She wishes she could do more but she kind of understands that sometimes other people can’t help you feel better about yourself
She’ll try to help you become more confident with you’re new limb
She wishes she could go back and stop you losing it.
Winter:
Winter knows many people who have lost parts of there body, it comes with the profession
So when you start struggling with it she goes to talk to them about how to help you
She’ll take any help she can to improve your way of life
How you feel about your synthetic limb is all that matters to her
Wish it was prettier? No problem she’ll get you a new one
Don’t want to wear it? Okay then don’t
Wish it was also a gun? Of course
She’s very supportive of anything you chose to do to help you feel better about your lost limb
