In order to maintain her scholarship in Ericson’s, Clem had to participate in at least one of the extracurricular activity clubs or teams. Since there were a lot of them, she chose to apply for the ones she’d had some experience with back in her hometown - and that her newfound friends were part of, so she wouldn’t be so alone.
Her first shot went to the music club. Back in her hometown, she’d sometimes borrow her father’s guitar and try to improv something. Even though she didn’t have any theorical training, she thought maybe she could pull it off with music. Louis was a real sweetheart helping her learn the basics of piano, since string instruments weren’t really his thing. Even though she certainly wasn’t the best at it, he was really encouraging, and seemed sure that she could learn a lot more with practice and time. He did, in fact, say she was a natural at it - although he might say that to everyone. It’s almost as if he was trying to convince her to stay...? Such a cute guy. It wouldn’t be bad at all to spend some more time with him.
Clem also attempted the sports team. She used to play baseball with her friend Javi all the time, and he taught her some techniques worth it’s weight in gold. She for sure didn’t expect having to play soccer, though. Her experience with it was as minimal as it could be. Marlon seemed pretty confident that she’d do well. “It’s just a stamina and physical capacity test”, he said. It sure didn’t help that he had a lot more stamina than her from all his years in sports, so trying to snatch the ball from him was nearly impossible. It was, however, really fun to play alongside him all evening. He seemed like a nice lad, unlike the other pesky jocks in this school. Maybe she could get around to doing this more often.
