"luna, get down from there!" you yelled out as you stared at the little girl on top of the jungle gym.

she stuck out her tongue as she shook her head defiantly, "no! i don't want to!"

you let out a sigh as you were practically in a deadlock but you felt someone tap your shoulder, making you glance over.

nayeon gave you a reassuring smile as she looked back to the girl, "luna sweetheart! if you come down, we'll get your favorite ice cream! how does that sound?"

you've never seen her so easy to persuade. she practically jumped off the jungle gym as she quickly ran up to nayeon, tugging her pant leg.

"let's get some ice cream mommy!"

you shook your head in disbelief as you picked the little girl up in your arms. she was such a mommy's girl, it was unbelievable.

"you spoil her too much, i swear."

"oh come on, it's just a simple treat." nayeon said as she gave a quick kiss on the side of your face, making luna let out a small 'eww'.

"whatever..." you said ignoring your daughter's sound and still getting surprised at how you felt butterflies in your stomach from the slight contact by nayeon. even after being married for 5 years, you still felt this way.

"what are you thinking about?" nayeon wondered as you were just standing still with luna in your arms, trying to pinch your cheeks.

you gave both of them a small smile before shouting, "just how much i love my two girls! now let's go get that ice cream!"

"yay!" the two shouted in unison as they giggled at each other making you that much happier. through it all, the good and the bad, this was it. you've finally stopped counting down the clock. you've found your love. the love for your wife and your family.

No Problem (feat. Felix)

This song is so retro, I adore it. It sounds like a song I’d listen to on a date at an ice rink! It’s really cute, and I love the addition of Felix’s voice. It’s really easy to get into at first listen so it didn’t take any additional replays for me to like it. I wouldn’t skip it and could see myself adding it to a playlist with retro vibes. (B)

POP!

Of course, this is the title track, it’s really catchy! I love the chorus and it’s definitely replayable. The song and the instrumentation sound like summer and are super fun to listen to. Nayeon’s voice is so addicting in this piece. (A)

LOVE COUNTDOWN (feat. Wonstein)

I loved this song immediately without replays. It’s a relaxing song and the beat is addicting. I knew this was going to be one of my favorites. The addition of Wonstein’s voice made the song even better. Sometimes features miss the mark for me, but both of their voices are amazing and together, enhance the song in all aspects. (S)

CANDYFLOSS

I love Nayeon’s voice in this piece, she has such a beautiful voice that I never really paid attention to in some of TWICE’s songs. I like the vibe of the song. It’s enjoyable but for some reason sounds more repetitive to me compared to other songs on her solo album. I don’t think I could listen to it several times in a row, but if it came on once in a while, it’d be a fun listen. (C)

ALL OR NOTHING

This song is good. It sounds really relaxing. It’s not my favorite song on the album, but it’s better than some others. I don’t really have strong opinions on this one because it’s just a really good solid song to have in her repertoire. It matches the vibe of the album. It’s something I could add to a chill playlist, but I don’t see myself going out of my way to listen to this one. (B)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

This song is extremely calming. I could see myself listening to this after a long day of work to unwind, or popping this song on during my studies. The crackling at the beginning of the song is my weakness.. I would love to have this played at a birthday party, honestly. (B)

SUNSET

I loved it from the first listen. Sunset is an absolutely gorgeous song that showcases Nayeon’s voice beautifully. This song is so amazing, I love every aspect of it. It feels nostalgic and magical, and it’s everything. It’s absolutely something I can see myself listening to every night. I love her voice in this song so much. I can’t possibly give this song enough praise. (S)

Wrap-Up: 

This was the perfect solo debut for Nayeon. All the pieces suited her voice perfectly. The album was so cohesive, that not even one song sounded out of place. Felix and Wonstein enhanced the songs they were in and truly were a great addition to Nayeon’s album. This has honestly got to be one of my favorite releases of 2022 so far. I adored this album and I promise it will be on repeat.

Nayeon's Solo Debut after 6 years of Debuting with Twice

After debuting with Twice in 2015, this will be her first time promoting as a soloist. On May 19, 2022, at 12AM KST (Korean Standard Time), Twice’s official Twitter and Instagram accounts posted a promotional poster for Nayeon's solo debut. The IM Nayeon poster showcased a lovely tea set, a pair of pink-hued sunglasses, a couple of nail paints, and a strand of pearls. The Pre-order period started last May 24, and the mini-album will drop on June 24, 1PM KST.

Her mini-album will consist of 7 tracks with 'Pop' as its title track. Nayeon collaborated with her hoobae/junior and labelmate, Felix of Stray Kids with the track 'No Problem', and rapper and singer Wonstein in 'Love Countdown'. Nayeon also participated in writing the lyrics for two of the songs in the album - 'Love Countdown (ft. Wonstein)' and 'All or Nothing'.

As a long-time Once (Twice’s fandom name), I felt excited as the first teaser was dropped. With her sweet and powerful vocals, we will surely be swept away once the album is dropped.
