I’ve been spacing out for a while

Time flies like a bus

The wind is coldly passing by.

It was cold, lonely. Walking home from your job on a winter night is not something you were keen on doing, but there was no other option. You checked your notifications, only seeing spam emails. You had been ignoring your phone for a while, thinking that if you acted like you didn't care, he would text you. But that didn't really work.

You sigh as you keep walking, dragging your feet in snow, hands in your winter coat's pocket, face snuggling in your huge scarf. You unlock your door as you reach your apartment and go to take a hot shower.

It was a long day. You just wanted to relax. You finish showering and wear a thick sweater over a t-shirt along with matching swetpants and socks. Maybe you will watch a movie or scroll mindlessly on Instagram until you fall asleep.

But I

I gain strength thinking about you.

Like I just saw you.

Under the star that resembles you exceptionally

The world looks bright.

Plopping on the couch, you open your phone again. You go to messages and click on his contact. 'My menace <3' you smile at the name and scroll up to read your previous chats.

You know he might be busy right now, since he had a night shift. As much as you wanted to talk to him or see him, you couldn't. You then started to look at your photos with him, how cheerful you both looked, how fun the memories attached to the photos were.

You feel much better. He just had that effect on you. Even just thinking about him made your mood go up. You look out your window, the snow falling slowly, the stars shining brightly. Even in the cold, dark night, it felt as if your whole world just lit up. Just by thinking about him.

I just lie down on the bed.

It used to be like hell, but now I’m excited

It doesn't help much that you suffer from insomnia. You stare up at the dark ceiling, only being reflected a little by the moonlight shining through your bedroom window. You sometimes get mad at Seungmin, he probably has no idea about the effect he has on you.

But now, because of him, you thank your insomnia. Its 2:45 a.m. and your phone lights up. You pick it up and see a notification from him. You quickly open it.

My menace <3: Hey, you up?

And of course, you say yes. This has happened before. Sometimes, he takes a break to see you. Before him, the sleepless nights seemed boring. You used to drown in your thoughts until the sunlight started to peak through. But now, you appreciate the fact that you couldn't sleep. You stopped taking sleeping pills, just in case he was available to see you.

Your heart beats rapidly at the thought, and you respond with a 'Yeah, same place?' and he says 'Yes :)' and you think you melt. Melt at such a simple message, but it's not simple since it's from him.

You quickly put on an outfit to keep you warm and rushed out of your apartment.

I ran out on that path

Looking down.

You walked, a bit too quickly. Going on the path that lead to the place where you both usually met. The whole neighbourhood was visible from there, along with the night sky shimmering with stars.

Then, you saw him standing, looking so sweet and cute. He saw you, and waved. You walked towards him.

"Hello there" he said, ruffling your hair. "Did you forget your beanie again? You will catch a cold!" he scolded you and took off his own, putting it on you gently, making sure it covered your ears so they don't freeze.

You started up at him and he smiled. That awful sickening sweet bright smile that made you want to kiss him. And then you laughed, that laugh he loved so much, where you bent forward a little, covering your mouth with one hand. He gained happiness from it, smiling more by just looking at you being happy.

You both just stood there, admiring each other secretly. You didn't know he loved you the same way. He was so thankful for you because you made him realize how loved he is. You always complimented his smile, your favorite thing about him.

You both stood side by side, close. His arm around you comfortingly, your head resting on his shoulder as you both stared at the stars.

You brought out the better in each other, made each other shine brightly. Just by existing.

I laughed for the first time this night.

Like your bright smile
