you don’t even remember when your relationship with heeseung changed. you’d always been friends. you met in high school through mutual friends and had stuck with the same people ever since.

your friend group didn’t mix around with other people much. especially you. you were closed off, careful, wanting to stay safe with your surroundings.

it all started as friendly banter. flirting here and there. joking. it was mostly him, but you decided to play along. harmless, you thought.

but oh, how wrong you were.

one random night, the tension finally tore through.

you were at a party one of your mutual friends hosted. both of you were high on alcohol and weed, not in the right mind. before you knew it, you were tangled up on a random bed with heeseung.

weeks passed since that night. neither of you mentioned it. it didn’t feel necessary. at least, that’s what you tried to tell yourself.

but in reality, you couldn’t stop thinking about it. it felt different. sure, it wasn’t your first time. but he took care of you so carefully, so gently.

you told yourself it was just hormones, that it was because you hadn’t been intimate in a while.

but the excuses wore thin. slowly, unbearably, all you could think about was heeseung. every second of every day. and it hurt like hell when you realized he probably forgot, while you were still tangled in that memory.

another party came around. you promised yourself you wouldn’t act on his flirty banter. you wouldn’t give in. not this time.

but as you arrived the lights, the music, the smells. they overwhelmed you. and so did the thought of him.

so you went outside, blunt in hand. in hope to clear your mind off of him.

luck wasn’t on your side as he suddenly appeared into the space next to you.

you sat in silence for a while, watching the midnight sky till he finally spoke

“do you think about that night?” his voice quiet, his eyes staying forward.

you glanced at him, then back down at the blunt. “sometimes. yeah.” half truth. you didn’t want to lie, but you didn’t want to reveal everything.

“yeah?” he finally looked at you. “i do too. a lot, actually.”

you let out a quiet laugh.

oh heeseung.

“i don’t regret it, yn.” you felt his gaze on you, watching every exhale. you stared forward, feeling oddly exposed.

“i don’t either,” you said, taking a quick hit before passing the blunt.

“would you want to do it again sometime?” he asked, smoke curling from his lips.

“where is this going, heeseung?” you sighed, frustrated. you just wanted to clear your head. he was making it harder.

“we could help each other when we’re frustrated,” he said. “and forget it the next day.”

you thought about it. really did. but something inside you had already given in. you wanted him. his attention. his love. even if temporary.

“alright,” you said blankly. he nodded.

and that’s how things started with heeseung.

he came over at the same time every night.

3:17 a.m.

never early, never late.

after a few nights, he didn’t text. he just came.

it felt euphoric. your own secret with him was more intoxicating than any drug.

at first, you thought he actually liked you for you, not just your body. he took care of you every time, even let you borrow his clothes and stayed with you after.

but then a new girl joined your friend group, and he noticed her immediately.

he didn’t put care into it anymore. only frustration, only anger. and that’s when it hit you. you were his second choice.

your confirmation came when he casually said the girl’s name while he was with you.

you ignored it.

after all, he’d made it clear. nothing serious. yet you couldn’t believe it.

you kept telling yourself “he’d never come back every night if he didn’t care about me.”

desperation clung to you.

the cycle repeated, month after month. at night, it was just the two of you. during the day, strangers.

your friendship shifted. minimal interaction. only necessary conversations. your friends noticed, but didn’t press. you were grateful for that.

your feelings grew. night after night, day after day. he invaded your thoughts in music, books, dreams, even when with other men.

he consumed you.

and slowly, it became something bigger.

was it love? obsession? you didn’t want to know.

you remembered how he had once been with you during the day. how he smiled, laughed, joked, hung out. that day version now belonged to her.

you only had the night version.

and you hated how much you wanted the old him back. how badly you wanted to be in her shoes.

your mental health frayed. you drank more, took stronger drugs, hoping to forget him, but it only made things worse.

you withdrew. grades dropped. isolation became normal. everyone noticed.

he didn’t check in. didn’t care. you were a stress reliever. a constant he knew would welcome him at night.

it became unbearable.

then in a random night you made a decision.

you would run, start over and never look back.

but before leaving, you wrote a letter.

my dear heeseung,

i don’t know if you’re even wondering where i am. maybe not. but i hope you do, at least a little.

i’m far away now. no one knows where and i’d like it to stay that way.

i wanted to thank you for the time we had together. the times where we would laugh together. have fun, go out, where we would tell each other everything.

when everything was still okay.

after that one night, everything shifted for me. after our little agreement, i started seeing you differently. i never wanted to admit it, and it feels strange to write it down, but i can’t leave without telling you.

i thought at first that the feelings were mutual. that you wouldn’t come back every night if it were nothing. but over time, i realized you only ever saw me as someone to fall back on. someone who’d always be there. maybe you knew how i felt all along. maybe not.

seeing you with her broke me. i don’t blame her. i don’t blame you. i never would. i blame myself. for falling for you when even i knew it was casual. i just wanted your love.

that was until you came..

you came into his life without warning, he was annoyed at first with your presence.. but slowly, he started to enjoy it.

maybe it was a dangerous move to his boring life routine but he didn't care, you silently brought company into his life.. and out of nowhere, he got a friend group..you and Beom-seok..

"ugh, you are a pain in the ass.." you rolled your eyes before you glared at him. his lips twitched.. he missed those warm moments with you., the way you always looked pissed of by his stoic behavior even though you never gave up in him.

"but can you at least tell me more about them?"

"why you care so much?" he finally looked up at her, his eyes dark.. looking like he was staring inside your soul. He didn't like the way you were so interested in his friends. They didn't matter for him.. the only thing that matter is you and him. that's it.

"because I can't believe a stoic guy like you could become friends with a group, no offense though".

"mhm.." he hummed in response, as he looked back at his homework. He wasn't planning for you to meet his friends, and maybe never. In his opinion there wasn't a reason for you to meet his friends. It was already perfect. just you and him.

"can we go outside? I'm want to get some fresh air" you suggested, the last time you went outside was the time when Si-eun met you again.. which was 2 weeks ago.

"no. how many times I have to tell you, you have to rest more." he bluntly said.. as he looked up at you.

"why not? there's literally nothing wrong going outside for some fresh air" you responded back, you were slowly getting pissed of by his protectiveness, it was getting so suffocating.

he didn't responded back, he observed you quietly for some long seconds, before he stood up from his chair and went besides you on the bed. He kept staring at you before he finally said something.

"I know you have feelings for me." your eyes widen when those words came out from his mouth. 'how did he-' you shook your head, there's no way he knew it.

"you look like your panicking, that means you do love me" he says, observing you with his eyes that carried a lot of emotion. "I.. like you too" he voice slightly broke..as he stared at you.. his face may look stoic but his eyes.. was full of love, desperation, possessiveness.

you only became quiet.. not knowing what to do after you knew the truth. He noticed how you became quiet.. he then slowly started to lean in closer to your face as he looked at your lips.

he then pressed his lips against yours.. and stupidly, you fell into the kiss as you wrapped your arms around his neck. the kiss was soft but full of passion and unspoken feelings. his lips perfectly moved against yours.

the room was quiet, only the sounds of y'all passionate kiss filled the room. your eyes were closed while his was open, wanting to see how you fell for the kiss.. fell only for him.

between the passionate kiss, he could mutter something dark that you didn't catch..
