angry whispers turn into frustrated shouts as the snapped twig sends vibrant blue feathers fluttering away in a panic. stan turns to address the other, binoculars hanging from his neck and brow knit in disappointment. ‘ aw come on, eddie! not cool man— ’ watching as cerulean wings retreat over the horizon, stan closes the book previously perched on his lap with an annoyed huff.

‘ that blue jay’s been nesting here for weeks— weeks, eddie, ’ he explains, tired eyes suddenly softening a bit at the sight of his friend, expression now mildly apologetic.

       𝐒𝐇𝐄’𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐓 𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐉𝐀 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐒 ,  𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐒 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐍’𝐓 𝐀𝐒 𝐔𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓.    she’d followed her father to derry ,  a decision made in haste && out of the worried mind of a daughter who always seemed to care a little too much of the people she did have in her life.   (   life riddled with a long linage of loss , abandonment ,to which had set off the  need , a deeply rooted notion ,  in her mind to hold those she loved   𝙲𝙻𝙾𝚂𝙴  at all times.   that long linage turned her into a kind being ,  warm hearted &&  loving.   )     ;     hand is extended to one of the males of their newly reunited clan  ,  valerie pressing a smile onto slightly painted lips!   the long winged sleeves of the black dress she wore  (very seventies inspired, but without the outlandish colors && patterns)    hang off arms near elbow as she awaits the other hand to connect with hers :      ❝ i’m valerie ,❞  greets the woman ,   ❝ bill’s daughter.  not sure if he’s had time to tell any of you?  ❞   brow arches upward in question.   despite being adopted , something she’s know for a long time ,  you can see traces of bill in her━the way she smiles , the way her eyes mimic his in color!   not his biologically , but his all the same.

          “i’ll sleep when i’m dead..” ronnie however knew that he couldn’t keep doing this, one day he was going to pass out on a job and that could spell disaster depending on what job it was. but his nightmares didn’t go away, they never would. so at the moment he’d just take a mug of coffee and start sipping on it once more.

“ C’mon Eddie, it’s just a cat. What’s the harm in petting it? ”  Dustin kneels, hand outstretched towards the stray tabby. The cat nuzzles his palm, purring as he scratches a soft patch under her chin. 

“ See? She’s really friendly. “

He directs a warm, reassuring smile towards Eddie.  

 “ It’s okay, really. ”
