friend got drunk and started crying about how big she is at 126lbs and how she needs to lose weight and be so much smaller…
now listen. this made me want to cry for a couple reasons. one, she’s gorgeous, inside and out, and no one deserves to feel like they’re “too much” or any variation of that, regardless of size, and especially not because of their size/weight. two, it got me thinking about the systemic issues regarding diet culture, especially for women and especially for people in her work environment (she’s a cheerleader). three, it hurt a little, personally, because I swear if you look at us I’m like twice her size (even though I know she doesn’t mean it in any harmful way).
anyway, my point is that this notion of being too big, too much, too whatever is stupid and dumb and effects seemingly everyone, no matter who you are. everyone has insecurities, and that’s okay, so long as you recognize that they don’t define you!! you are wonderful and beautiful and amazing. lots of love <3
