Reports have emerged in the last couple of hours of three attacks in London. The first on London Bridge, the second at Borough Market and the third in the Vauxhall area. At London Bridge, a white van ploughed into reportedly 20 people at 50mph. The van then continued to Borough Market, where 3 men got out and stabbed random people in the chest, including one small girl. I’m not currently aware of what went on in the Vauxhall area.
The police are promoting a Run. Hide. Tell method to anyone in danger. Essentially you RUN to a place of safety or if there’s nowhere to go, HIDE put your phone on silent not vibrate. Barricade yourself in if possible. Then, TELL by calling 999, if and only if it’s safe to do so.
It’s important to remember at times like these that we mustn't spread false information - a lot of conflicting statements have been given and not all of them are verified. All of the verified updates are on @metpoliceuk twitter.
We cannot let fear win. The entire point of terrorism is to make people so scared that they change their lives. They want to inhibit us with fear. We can’t let them win. Fight back, live your lives, just stay safe. Remember, the chances of dying in a terrorist attack are 1 in 25000000. You have a better chance of winning a gold medal at the Olympics or becoming an astronaut. My heart goes out to everyone in London, it really does, but we cannot let hate win.
