Vom Low Boy zur Hi-Hat

Im Schlagzeugunterricht passiert es regelmäßig, dass sich nicht nur Neulinge über die eigentümliche Konstruktion der Hi-Hat wundern. Die Hi-Hat ist jenes Instrument des Schlagzeugs, bei dem es möglich ist, die daran befestigten Becken sowohl mit den Sticks als auch mit einem Pedal zu spielen. Das alleine sorgt schon meistens für erstaunte Blicke. Noch erstaunter werden diese Blicke wenn meine SchülerInnen erfahren, dass die ersten Versionen der Hi-Hat alles andere als „high“ waren.
