Mate we KNOW Byler isn't canon, and I've certainly not claimed that it is after S5 dropped. Doesn't mean I'm not a Byler. Defeats the bloody point of a fandom if we were to only ship the canon ships. Besides, Post S5, Mileven is no more canon than Byler is, given that Jane is unfortunately dead, something which, if you actually had a scroll through my blog, you'd see that I'm devastated about. Not that I'd expect you to understand that, toxic Milkvans like yourself tend to only appreciate Jane as Mike's superhero girlfriend, not her own person with a family and genuine friendships and connections and her own personality, outside of Mike. Although you also seem to fail to understand Mike's insecurities, either ignoring/romanticising them or completely condemning him, so I don't really understand what goes on with you people

I have no issue with Mileven shippers. I do not like the ship myself as I see several issues with it, and have done since BEFORE I shipped Byler. Believe it or not, I only started shipping Byler in 2022, so those two years in between were me not shipping Mike, Jane and Will with anyone at all! So seeing toxic Milkvans like you really saddens me because you're literally spreading hate on a blog that you shouldn't have any problem with. I appropriately tag all my posts, so what are you doing here? Surely you have better things to do???

You're talking about "Subtext in AO3 fics" lol you really are just throwing around buzz words in hopes that you sound like you know what you're talking about. The subtext is in the SHOW. AO3 BYLER fics don't have Byler Subtext. That is explicitly stated Byler shipping. In fanworks. The hell do you mean subtext in AO3 fics???? I'm crying???? (And not in the way you want me to cry, I'm laughing at you... Just incase that message didn't get across, like any other message I've put on my blog!)

So is this a case of like, Baby's First Fandom? Because I would advise that if you are actively participating on tumblr.com, Hellsite home of queer neurodivergent superfans, or even just being active in any fandom at all, then you should at the bare minimum learn our lingo before trying to be all smarty pants attacking us about it

Can people please stop making fun of stutters and seeing people who have stutters as 'uneducated'/'uninformed'?!

So I just saw a TikTok of an interview with Andy Burnham, who stutters from time to time, as well as pauses between words a lot when speaking. I wouldn't even say his stutter is particularly bad in comparison to how a lot of people stutter, and it definitely does not make him incoherent.

A commenter, when asked why they dislike him so much, said it's because "He doesn't have a clue what he's saying, he can't string together a sentence without stopping or stuttering".

STUTTERS ≠ NOT BEING INTELLIGENT

...and nor should people with a stutter be seen as 'poor public speakers'.

As someone who has quite a stutter in most conversations (I don't experience it to the extent where it's every sentence, or at least as far as I'm aware, but it's still a very present part of my speech), the way I speak is not a reflection of my intelligence. In fact, I study English Literature and English Language. I got 9s in both at GCSE, and am on track for/currently achieving A*s at A Level in both. It is a similar situation for every other subject I have studied, yet I have a stutter that impacts every conversation I have, sometimes to the point where it prevents me from being able to say a word at all (despite being good at pronouncing complicated words across multiple languages).

Better yet, I am also a confident public speaker who has participated in various competitions, as well as stood in front of a crowd of ~60 judgemental teenagers to do a lecture at my old highschool. Did I stutter during these moments? Yes, to an extent. But did that make my topics any less researched, well-structured, or beneficial?

Absolutely not. It was the same content as it would be if I didn't have a stutter, just including an extra few repeated letters or words here and there.

I'm not saying you have to see Burnham as some kind of political saviour for Labour and the government, nor am I saying that you have to agree with his policies.

What I'm saying is that you should NEVER hate or disapprove of someone based on the way they speak, as it is something that for some of us cannot be easily changed, nor should it be, when it is something that does not massively impact on life.

So stop making fun of stutters.

Hi~~!!

First, I wanted to let you know that I'm an adult who could be your mother (a young mother, but a mother nonetheless, even though my only children are my three cats and my two young nephews 🥰). I wanted you to know this because I've been on Tumblr for many years (since late 2010) and I don't usually interact with minors (at least not consciously; I usually just reblog and like posts, and occasionally made a comment).

I'm writing to you because in your introduction you said you have no problem interacting with adults, and seeing as you're a fan of AMC IWTV, I don't think you'll find much more hardcore content on my Tumblr than what the show contains. Likewise, even though I might enjoy stories, characters, and relationships that are more than questionable and messed up, I would NEVER agree with those things in real life.

Well, all this rambling is because I saw you're a fan of the series Paraíso and that, like me, you watched it after the end of Stranger Things. So I'm delighted to find another fan of this series, which unfortunately has gone completely unnoticed (like most non-English language content) and deserves more recognition.

I don't know how you came across it (I'm Spanish, so I heard about it when it premiered, and it was on my watchlist since them). I'll try to make a few more posts to promote it within the Stranger Things fandom, although I've already mentioned it in a fandom post as a recommendation instead of ST Tales of '85.

I'm glad that other people also watched it to recover from Stranger Things and yes, I 100% agree that it will be a far better replacement for a lot of people than Tales From '85! It's so underrated and definitely deserves far more recognition, I feel like it being labelled as 'Spanish Stranger Things' could put some people off even though it's its own thing entirely and stands independently as an absolutely amazing show. I will definitely also be promoting it as much as I can

Individual patches:

So this is my latest addition to the collar, it's a lyric from Why? by Bronski Beat that I think is particularly impactful, but also really cool because the people of this Hellsite voted for it over other lyrics I had cherry picked

It DEFINITELY needs some work in terms of the lettering (would you believe me if I said I painted this with a crochet hook because I didn't have a paintbrush small enough?) so I'm going to go back and fix that up at some point. And yes, I am still in the process of sewing it on. Unfortunately I have no sewing needle so I've been using an embroidery one and I may have snapped it basically in half from using too much pressure to sew it...

Okay these next ones are where you're really going to see my complete lack of proficiency in embroidery, sewing AND painting:

This is the first patch I made. It's the shapes from the background of the original The Age of Consent by Bronski Beat album cover (yes, 3 of these 4 patches are Bronski Beat related BUT THEY WON'T ALL BE I SWEAR)

I actually don't think the embroidery is too bad on this one (for a complete beginner who knows 1 stitch total). But we do NOT talk about the sewing and how wonky it is lol. But like the others, it looks good from a distance, and as I always say, if you're close enough to see the mistakes, then you're TOO close to me and I'll have to ask you to back away

I love this one. Primarily because we love the anti-consumerist messaging of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Yes I ran out of the lime green half way through, but it builds character, okay????

And what better lyric to pair the anti-consumerist icon (well I suppose he IS the consumerist that we are criticising) with than a lyric from Bronski Beat's hit song about consumer culture, Junk from The Age of Consent (my joint favourite Bronski Beat song/favourite from TAoC)???

(I need serious help, I think I'm addicted to Bronski Beat)

Aaaand finally, three Minecraft hearts in the Life Series colours. They are SO dodgy, I started with the red one and then by hour two of embroidering (YES, this took me four hours total), I was dying so it got SO sloppy. I recently painted over the yellow heart with yellow paint to neaten it it up a bit, and I'm planning on doing the same with the green heart when I next have a chance

So yeah, that's my denim jacket!

I make all of my patches out of recycled tote bags that I either didn't want/my friend broke (she's broken like four tote bags in the bast 6 months it's ridiculous), and I paint over them in black to form the background. The hearts and the Why? lyrics use the handles because they're quite slim so work well for smaller patches

Also all the embroidery threads I use are from another friend who barely embroiders so kindly lets me borrow them but I feel bad for slowly eating through her supply but embroidery thread can be SO expensive in large amounts lol but she said it's fine because she doesn't use them

My next plans are: little fire bits embroidered directly onto the sleeves (if I can fix the embroidery needle lol), the little pyramid things on the album cover of El Eterno Femenino by La Mode (because it matches the Bronski Beat shapes), a cool sword design for the other sleeve with lyrics from Eight by Sleeping At Last, a Pendragon Crest, the Torchwood logo etc, and so much more

I don't know if I want to bleach or paint the back panel with a cool design, or just fill it with lots of patches. Hmmm

But yeah, hope you like it! I'm loving working on it and I'm hoping I can get a bit more done before I go to my friends' band's gig at a festival in the summer, and potentially also The Age of Consent UK Tour concert in May, but I don't think it will be completed fully for another year or two yet lol
