This breakfast is filled with my favorite things: avocado aka #naturesbutter, #local bread, and @equalexchange coffee in a #repurposed jam jar. The Swiss chard I used was bought last night from @bushwickfood - it was sold super cheap because the greens were pretty wilted, but I stuck them in a jar of water and they’re sitting happy in the fridge! Coconut oil 🥥 • Whether you’re looking for a new make-up remover, a new hair oil or even a cooking oil, coconut oil is definitely the most versatile, low waste and natural option. I personally love it as a make-up remover - it’s more time consuming than regular oil cleansers, as you can’t get away without a second cleanse, but you can be sure you won’t have any mascara residues afterwards! Reusable cotton rounds!

I’ve switched to reusable cotton rounds about six months ago now. It’s probably one of the zero waste transitions to make! I bought a few on Etsy (they might seem expensive at first, but remember you will never have to buy them again) or you can easily make your own ones. They also look so much prettier, what’s not to love about them?

Raise your hand if you have far too many empty candle jars lying around 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ fortunately, these are so easy to repurpose! Here’s what you do: 1. Make sure the candle is no longer burnable (should have VERY little to no wax) and stick in the freezer overnight. 2. Take it out and carefully use a knife to break up the frozen wax bits at the bottom. When they’re all removed, along with the wick, clean thoroughly (there should be no ash on the sides of the jar) 3. Use it for things! So far, I’ve used my jars to hold change and aromatics. With larger jars, you could easily use them as plant holders. You’ve seen this bag and this cookie too many times now BUT I have a message this time that’s different from “I love @pretamangeruk‘s new cookies”. I’m doing the #lowimpact30 challenge this month! I’m already pretty low-waste but for the next month I’m going to try extra hard! I’ll also be traveling so it’ll be interesting to see what challenges I might face on the move. For the past couple of days I’ve been using my favourite new bags from @whaleandsquid (thanks to the VPP for gifting them to me ❤️) to buy bread and cookies (pretty much all I’ve bought in the last 3 days 😂).
