Lunar Sanctum
🌖 Chapter 23 — “Awakening”
Luna’s father
When Luna says, “I’m scared,” it’s the first time she doesn’t hide behind philosophy.
No metaphors.
No symbolism.
No reframing.
She simply names the fear.
Theo doesn’t comfort her.
He doesn’t say “everything will be fine.” He doesn’t soften the edges.
Instead, he does the thing he knows how to do:
he tells the truth.
Even when it’s unpleasant.
💬 “Or that you’ll recognise him… and feel nothing?”
It’s a deeply adult fear. And a cruel one.
But Theo isn’t saying it to hurt her. He’s saying it because that’s how his mind works. He always goes looking for the thing people are afraid to name.
And that’s what matters.
Around Theo, Luna is finally allowed to do something she rarely permits herself: feel.
Not endure. Not stay strong. Not take care of everyone else.
Just feel.
🖤 And that changes everything.
Because Luna is no longer the only one saving someone.
She gets to be vulnerable too.
And that’s when their connection becomes mutual.
