All that time and effort could've been used to expand on the miraculous verse! It could've been used to explore characters lore/backstories! It could've been used to explore characters flaws! It could've been used to maybe give compelling and meaningful character arcs!

Instead it was used on the pathetic trash square!
It was used on something that could've been resolved like, i dunno?2 seasons ago?
But whatever! I quit canon! Now i'm going to go and support my innocent, pure blueberry cinnamorolls in the realm of fanon!
What frustrates me the most about this show is that it had the POTENTIAL but then we got THAT.

Voltage Japan just shuttered Voltage USA and Lovestruck out of nowhere on the 23rd. Chalked up to “poor performance” starting in 2020 (read: they made a union)
Welp, I suspected something was seriously wrong after that empty schedule was released last Friday, but this... is really sad.

I was always unpleasantly surprised by Voltage's lack of communication with the fanbase because it's such a powerful tool. There were so many occasions when they could've released an official statement, made a big fuss about it, turn it into a marketing campaign, basically. Instead, they completely alienated their own fanbase, kept everything under the wraps and never even said anything about the app being shut down on any of the Lovestruck's social media. I'm tempted to go into a rant about conservative Japanese management continuously failing to understand how the Internet works, but we'd be here all day.
Although we can connect the beginning of Lovestruck's decline in performance to the writers' strike, they had every chance to bounce back from that. But everything they did after was just a series of bad decisions after bad decisions. The fact that they did not really change the corporate culture, so all of the old writers left anyway. Their witch hunt on the fans. The failure of IHS, Noir the app, the mediocre GIL reboot and the complete lack of any advertising or social media campaigns. Yeah...
I've been critical of Lovestruck before, but this blog was born of genuine love for this stupid app, and I stayed here after all this time because I still genuinely loved it. It written by LGBTQ+ people like me, for LGBTQ+ people like me, and sometimes it was pretty freaking great. If it should die, I wish it could at least die with dignity... But even that was too much to ask, I guess.
To be honest I find Marinette crushing on Chat Noir really strange,because in Chat Blanc he says "It was our love that did this to the world, m'lady" to her so like what is going on?,but then again this is the same show where Marinette decided to stop dating Luka or anyone else because of Shadow Moth but then just turn around and start dating Adrien in Ephemeral because HYPOCRISY BABY!!!!!

Tbh, I find the reverse love square even more cringier than the love square. Maybe because this is probably just fanservice and I bet the reverse love square will hardly have any actual meaning in the show.

I don’t get the idea of shipping these two just because they are two teenager villains. Honestly they have nothing in common. They are from separate worlds and I don’t feel like there was something what would make them work. I have absolutely 0 feelings for this ship.

Love confession from Silencer is unbeatable by any other moment in the show. But also I really can’t be neutral about their tender hug in Loveater. These both scenes are so precious and they both really moved me so much that my heart started to race.

A while later after Felix was introduced in the show. We noticed Felix and Chloe know each other. So they are childhood friends who have spent a lot of time together (with Adrien too). And they could work as childhood friends to lovers in denial. 😆 I like it.

I liked it in season 1 and 2. They were funny and honestly my fave side of LS. Later it became so obsessive from Chat’s side to the point that it became unbearable.

Somewhere after season 2. I totally lost interest during season 3. The puppeteer 2 killed it completly.

No. It was my first side ship I liked. That interest in this ship faded quickly tho, so it didn’t make me kill interest in the series. (The moment that killed my interest in the show came much later...)

If we could count that weird moment in NY special then yes. But I really wished we could have seen their insolently deleted first kiss from season 3 finale. (I can bet that this scene from Loveater where Kagami pulled Adrien for a kiss wasn’t interrupted by sudden Adrien’s uncertainty and they really kissed there. That scene was just converted, wasn’t it? 😤 That’s my theory tho.)

I'm curious about something: have you ever actually paid money for hearts for irving/mateo/malakai/etc? Because it's real easy to flip your complaining about Lovestruck not supporting them. If those routes don't earn enough money to pay the writers and artists to make the next season, of course they're not going to continue. A very similar thing happened in The Arcana with Portia's route - people said they wanted it, but didn't pay for it, and if that happens, the route ends.
Listen kid. I am a 32 year old woman with a job. I bought all of Irving's chapters back when Gangsters in Love was a stand alone app. I have spent a good deal (and probably much more than I should have) on hearts and tickets, and I have bought. Every. Single. Heart scene. For my favorite characters.
Not that it is any of your business, btw. But your attitude bugs me. Do you think you are the only one who spends money on an app they like? That people are only spending money on the white dudes? And honestly even people who aren’t like me and can't afford to get all these hearts are still allowed to be upset if a route they like gets canceled.
I don't know if you are just the type who is completely ok with stories they like getting canceled or if you are lucky enough that all the stories you like reach satisfying conclusions. But not everyone is like you. People are allowed to be upset about how a company they like runs things.
I know I am just one person, and as much as I talk about the stories that I love and mourn how short they are or how they did (or didn't) end, that it will probably not change anything. So I don't get why you are so upset. Do you think a company is going to be like "oh shit a random woman who plays our game is upset we ended her favorite routes early, time to close down they company". Or worse, time to finish those routes just for her even though some random anon didn't like those routes."
It's fine if you don't want to see people complain about something you like. But then block me. Or blacklist #LS salt. Don't just send me condensending messages in which you make assumptions that I am complaining for no reason.
One last note. Lovestruck is not your friend. They are a company. And they do not need you to defend them. And I know that these routes end because lovestruck is a company and for all I know I am the only one spending hearts on them. I am still allowed to be disappointed.
Also know, since you decided you know all about me, that I do love Lovestruck. I've been playing it for as long as the app has been out (3 years I think?). And I played and bought routes from all their stand alone games before that. And I will continue to play them and spend hearts on my faves. (Leon season 5 next week, woot!)
And then there's some Toxic LS stans who bash the characters (and doxx lukanette and adrigami shippers), with their only excuse being "ThEy R iN tHe Way of adrienette/Ls
Imagine being so insecure about ur ship knowing it's just a heterosexual basic, boring, baseless, bland ship. So then u have to ruin others happiness just so u can feel good abt ur crappy ship.

YES, these are some of the reasons I dislike/hate the LS.
And YES, I'm tired of the hate Lukanette gets for nothing (I could go on and on about this topic but I won't).
Honestly, I don't want to comment on canon anymore (I'm not watching the show and I hate it- it's so much CRINGE to me), so I don't think I'll be answering any more asks regarding it.
All I want is to freely enjoy our little Pro Lukanette / Pro LukaMari bubble and the (fan) content. That's all.
