Clerith deniers dominating FFVII fandom and trying to force Cloti down everyone’s throats are toxic as hell. Just because your ship can be perceived as “endgame” thanks to certain plot points and interpretations popularized by the Compilation dosen’t give you the right to unironically bully everyone into submission!

Not to mention denying the existence of a “love triangle” and downplaying every single indication that Aerith might have wanted to love the real Cloud but couldn’t because of her death in favor of a “two people in love, one woman projects her dead ex onto one of the people in love, thankfully she dies” and trying to force this view on the fandom robs the story and the gaming industry of one of it’s greatest tragedies.

The story was always up for interpretation but outright denying parts of the FFVII story that flow stronger when viewed as a “love that could mever be….destroyed by a hatred that always was” weakens parts of the narrative and admittly dosen’t even mesh with Cloud’s guilt post gaining his memories back

So in the OG, President Shinra is already dead by the time they reach the executive floor.

Imagine in the Remake if you're Tifa.

You watch your hometown burn, father killed and you blamed Soldier and Shinra.

You joined a terrorist group because of this and settled in a new city.

Shinra again burned this new home of yours and the bar you nurtured.

Then in the Remake, you get to face PRESIDENT SHINRA!

And Tifa was written like:

Barely no lines.

Barret's anger? That's how Tifa is supposed to feel! And thank goodness they let Barret speak out.

Why is Tifa supposed to be quiet? Because anything about Nibelheim is supposed to be hidden as a future plot reveal. She can't rant because Cloud would join in and they'll go WTF together as Tifa wasn't supposed to have seen Cloud 5 years ago. And yet the game operates as if this elephant in the room is already addressed between them.

In the museum portion of Shinra HQ, Barret always rants about how Mako destroys the planet. But nah, Tifa can't even say anything about the Nibelheim reactor.

The current writers simply do not care about fleshing her already established history. They care more on their reimagined Tifa who is gentler and conflicted about her convictions.

And just like that everything I ever said about Case of The lifestream: White was just proven correct by the official English translation. 

It’s third person limited. Nojima did not confirm them, lovers. It is from Aerith’s perspective, and Koibito was used to show that Aerith had romantic feelings towards Cloud, not that she thought they were lovers or because they actually were. This is shit I have been saying consistently and got mocked for, harassed, and called delusionally and my reading comprehension insulted. 

But oh what do you know, I was correct in my interpretation of the passage.

Of all my gripes in the Remake, it's actually good they added Jessie some backstory that gives additional insight to the Shinra employees and their families.

But no! Shipper logic means these additions are to make Clerith less special. It can't be just about Jessie, it has to involve Aerith and Tifa somehow.

PSA Clerith scenes in the Remake are mostly in the freaking OG in 1997. These Clerith scenes are older than a lot of shippers here in Tumblr. The Remake even doubled down and added a collapsed highway segment and made Wall Market longer with the Colosseum segment.

I'm so disappointed in what the Cloti fandom has become. Clessie and Clerith being completely the same is one of the most immature analysis I've seen ever in the history of LTD.

A random grunt with a Kunsel fanservice comment singlehandedly diminished Tifa's plot significance as she's supposed to be the ONLY person (outside Seph) who knows that Cloud is the real one.

As a Tifa fan I'm so pissed at how they handled her at the Remake. When sections are supposed to be about her, it's not about her. She's not allowed to be hateful and vengeful to an organization that burned two of her homes unlike in the OG. She can't even rant to President Shinra's face! They keep cockblocking any conversation about what went down in Nibelheim but pushes Cloti fanservice. What a shitshow.

I spent 8 years in the LTD I don't have patience or mental energy on people who think Tifa yelled at Cloud in AC lmao.

AC is not even a romance story, it's about healing, recovery and finding the reason to fight. Of course it's not gonna offer clear solutions to whatever romance problem anyone can nitpick. What matters is that Cloud and others are moving on with their new lives. It's a step in the right direction.

The Cloti and Zerith fandoms are so disappointing.

When you're too deep in the LTD you don't realize it anymore. You're the same as the antis you hated and ridiculed for many years.
