Love Lucian Freud at the National Gallery, London.     Here • Two Men • from 1987-88.     I am at the moment obsessed by this painting, and it is probably my favorite in the show.     Completed in July 1988.   In between sessions working on a large full-length double portrait of the same two men (Two Men in the Studio, 1987-89), in which the naked figure is standing, Freud began this painting of his models resting on a mattress on the floor of his studio.
