Everyone experiences entities and deities that aren't as well rooted in specific traditional frameworks different.
Some traditions do not have this wriggle room. That's just factual. You cannot go to every culture and go "Well my version of <Deity> is like this instead."
No.
No you cannot. I am sorry. But you are not the most special little devotee and practitioner in the whole big wide world where you can overwrite ethnic cultures and traditions that you don't even belong to and walked into without education or being welcomed by the people.
But also people do this with deities that they believe aren't well documented or engaged with.
And it's inappropriate.
No, your version of Lucifer isn't more than anyone else's nor the "versions" that are actually well documented both ethnically and historically across various areas.
I'm sorry.
Your version just only exists to you.
And that is uncomfortable for some people. Because it hints that maybe, just maybe, it's a lot of stuff they made up.
And that may be true. In fact, personally, I think it's true for many people. But not all. Mostly I weigh things through VPG. There are things that I have cross-checked but didn't agree with that had bias removed and confirmed by myself and multiple parties. This scrutiny only happens when asked, of course. But nonetheless, it happens.
But however you choose to believe in your version of deities, it's still real to you. You believe it is real.
And really, at the end of the day, that's all that matters.
But many people who sit in this think that they have "figured it out".
And no. No they have not. Not even by a mile.
Because, again, spiritual traditions have never been a free-for-all "do whatever you want" type of system. There is relationism and reciprocity that is involved. Structures. Patterns. Grounded-in-reality beliefs. There is sustainability. And unless you understand those important facets of your praxis, you have built your belief system on self-made fanfiction.
This can still be transformative, a learning experience, deeply personal, and deeply inspiring! Absolutely! But it becomes spiritual psychosis when you become obsessed with your own feedback looping and you claim you have figured out "the truth".
And anyone who claims to have done so is not rooted in grounded, real-life practise. It becomes dangerous.
Girl what the fuck I was doing a massive rant about how much I hate myself and that Lucifer must hate me and then tumblr started glitching out and I couldn't type. At all.
Tried refreshing and it was specifically that draft like oh OK, fine FINE I won't treat myself like shit, jeez sorry 😭😭
I will never express how much I love writing to my deities
Highly recommend using a journal to communicate…especially for those who struggle voicing stuff
Just love it a lot :)
Lucifer.

And here you have the playlist I'm making for him. Spotify, Youtube Music.
*This is not the objective truth, take this as a guide if you want it.
I wouldn't recommend him as your first spirit, research and protect before trying to connect with any being, make sure it's really him you're with.

Teachings:
• Living in the present: Live the best way you can for yourself today. This is your life and you deserve fulfillment now, he rejects the idea of suffering in the present for a reward in an afterlife. Instead, the focus is in finding happiness and fulfillment in your current state.
• Personal Choice: Lucifer, unlike other angels, was created with free will, he chose to rebel against the ruler, taking control over his own life, not following a preset path for him, but creating his own from nothing, and daring to go after it.
• Justice and rebellion: When he thought the ruler was being unfair, unjust, and controlling everything and everyone by himself, he rose against him, educating the beings around him, building a team willing to fight for the same goal, and fighting him even if they couldn't win. He stood for what he believed and fought for it tooth and nail.
• Self-empowerment and self-worship: There's no-one he respects more than himself, he bows to no-one but himself (but this doesn't mean to disrespect others!). Trust in your potential, celebrate your worth, your imperfection is perfect because there's only one you, and that you is worth it.
• Free will and personal liberation: Personal freedom and the right to self-determination. To be, to think, to do, to feel, your life is yours, your mind only belongs to you, you get to choose what you do with your brain, your body, your soul, who you are, and what you believe.
• Seeking truth: Not staying complacent with subjective beliefs or hopes if there's an objective truth somwhere, he doesn't believe in self delusion. You might find yourself unwilling to change your mind when you're wrong, that's your ego, but true knowledge requires facing that and being willing to be wrong, questioning established doctrines, confirmation bias, fears, misinformation.
• Your Shadow: What is it that you hide from others? Or even yourself? Who are you when at your worst? Facing the darkness inside and around you is hard, but the most rewarding. When you fall, as everyone does in life, are you comfortable in the discomfort? Do you know who you are still? You have it in you to put yourself back together and rise again, but will you? At rock bottom, in the darkest night, you can propel the highest, and see every leak and light.
• Doing your best: Not your friend's best, not your idol's best, YOUR best. Loving yourself enough to work on being your best possible version and giving yourself your best possible life. To be the smartest, most resilient, justest, most fulfilled version of you you can be.
Christian interpretation: Within Christianity, Lucifer is often used as a negative example to teach lessons about pride and the consequences of sin.
He represents the danger of putting yourself above the abrahamic god, to go against the rules of the one in power, which can lead to a fall from grace (going to hell), or general punishment.
His pride is seen as having corrupted his own worship and influenced other angels to rebel, with his silver tongue manipulating them to follow him.
He felt he was being left aside and he should be treated as higher, same level as god by him, and his jealousy/envy led him to fight.
Media:
*Note: some media, even fiction, can offer surprisingly insightful lessons aligned with his teachings!
Lucifer, the Netflix series: Self-love, emotional vulnerability, facing your flaws, accepting guilt, taking responsibility for your actions, finding freedom from self-imposed hells, breaking bad habits.
Obey Me, the otome game/dating sim/interactive visual novel: The character named after him represents the sin of Pride, acts with responsibility over himself and his chosen family, is loving yet stern and strict, striving for the best for himself and those he loves. Loyalty, hard work, love for those who stand by you and growth are major themes for him.
Deity Work:
To work, worship, honour, devote, or anything else with him:
• Self development is HUGE.
• Do Shadow Work!!! Research the shadow by Jung.
• Go to therapy.
• Learn, study, research.
• Write an essay on something you find interesting.
• Write poetry, prose, lyrics, philosophy, a story, etc.
• Practice playing an instrument or work on a skill!
• Pursue higher education, whatever that is for you.
• Go to work 💔. Make some moneeeeyyy 🤑.
• Fight against your vices! Work on any addictions or bad habits. Like maybe you have too much caffeine, or keep smoking, or haven't eaten a vegetable in 6 months except your daily bag of chips...
• Take care of your wellbeing, mental and physical health.
• Let the "ugly" emotions out. Allow yourself to be upset, mad, to cry (Responsibly!).
• Enjoy!!!! Have fun! Do something that you genuinely like, this is actually an offering to any deity imo, you having fun or being happy? Hell yeah.
• Stand up for yourself.
• Fight misinformation or injustice.
• Respect yourself.
• Work on your sense of responsibility; are you responsible? And is it in the ways you should be?
• Work on your independence. Community is important, and you can and should also rely on others, but what can you do to make sure you can stand on your own?
• Acknowledge your good parts. You talents, attitudes, skills, what are the good things about yourself? Learn to be aware of them and be proud of them.
• Ego work. Balance self assurance and security with humility. Be open to learning, to being wrong sometimes, don't be afraid to be the "dumbest" person in a room; that's the place where you'll learn the most.
• Protect and defend the vulnerable, in any form.
• Strengthen your self authority, be in control of yourself and your own life, have yourself as your main "boss".
• Question authority. Not as mindless rebellion, but figure out if it's reasonable, fair, for the best, and act accordingly, like collaboration, correcting a teacher on something, or protesting against a cruel law.
• Do something you've been putting off or ignoring but you know it's in your best interest to do.
Memory prompted by a typical question on reddit:
You TRULY have not lived until you get really triggered by something, turn to Lucifer in your upset and yell "what do I have to give you to have you fix this?!" And he responds in a sarcastic, put upon creepy voice, "your soulllllllllll."
Sometimes I'll be bedrotting and whilst I'm lay there cocooned in my blankets in the dark I notice Lucifer's energy creeping up on me.
And it's like, yes, hi, my Lord, I love You, I do, but I am sad, I wish to wallow in my misery.
But He doesn't go away and Lucifer just... lingers. Not in a pressure way but more of just a... he's there, way? Does that make sense?
Anyway, tl;dr - Lucifer interrupts my chronic depression by standing in the corner of my bedroom until I either fall asleep or get up.
Every message that comes from a deity or a spirit is incredible, but I swear that Lucifer's messages just hit different. I can't explain why but he just puts things in such a powerful way. I'm going to share what he told me today because it rocked my world a little bit:
"Everything that's happened to you so far, everything behind you right now, it doesn't mean shit anymore. Every comment, every moment, every bully, every doubt that you've been holding on to, they're gone now. From this moment forward, you create yourself. Let everything that came before now burn away, and focus on the new. If none of that shit had happened, who would you actually be? Who would you want to be? Because that's who you are now. Let the past that hurt you slip away, and start building something new right now, because it's the only way you'll really move forward."
Hail Lord Lucifer man, like holy shit. Everything he says is insanely powerful. He told me that he's my protector and that I should burn rose incense when I want to talk to him, and I literally bought some just now after this 🤣 It also reminds me a lot of what Lucifuge Rofocal told me about how I keep doing the work of everyone who hurt me before, which was also a really raw message
