no so like tell us about ur op81 to ferrari vision........ -- wiz
Okay here goes:
The year is 2025. Over the season we see a long and drawn out title fight between Ferrari and Mclaren. For both WCC and WDC.
At first it's close. Like really close, and this makes things let's say tense between the two frontrunners that emerge. Not Charles and Lando, or Charles and Max. No, it's Charles and Oscar. And they are friendly right, they have joked around online so they think they have got this, they can be perfectly fine competing for WDC.
Of course it's not that easy. Tensions within teams run deeper, races get more contentious. Penalties become more bullshit and eventually both drivers have said some choice words about each other and to each other in private.
This gets harder when at the end of the season Charles pulls pretty handily away with the WDC. Mostly because of superior Ferrari upgrades.
Now this is just the backstory for this.
Because Lewis shockingly retires early. No one saw it coming.
So guess what Ferrari want to get the 2025 vice champion as well.
After a long period of contract negotiation Ferrari do manage to steal Oscar away from Mclaren.
But now Oscar has a very new challenge, try to fit into Ferrari, a very different team environment from what he's used to at Mclaren.
Things have cooled down between Oscar and Charles from the 2025 season. They think. Charles teaches Oscar Italian before the season starts, he gives him a new better tour of Monaco, it's all looking pretty good.
Until the cars hit the track again and Charles and Oscar find themselves in very familiar territory to 2025, competing at the front of the field, but this time they are teammates, and all the competition from the previous season and some weird feelings from over break really come to a head to make it a very messy teammate partnership/rivalry.
However now that they are teammates Oscar sees a side of Charles he didn't before, the one that isn't polite, the one that will tell him things straight. Same with Charles, he gets to see the Oscar who gets turned around in the new garage, who sometimes just wants places to sit quietly and who actually gets angry when he thinks he let the team down.
Around the halfway point in the season there is a bad race. A really bad race. One where they both think the other is at fault.
And that's when they act on some more physical impulses. That doesn't fix anything but it does make things more emotionally complicated.
Until they get back from break and the upgrades aren't what the team needed and now the WCC is getting really tight again against Mclaren.
It's at this point they actually start figuring out how to work together on track. Charles does not want to lose another WCC to Mclaren, and Oscar wants to beat his old team, prove he made the right choice.
This marks a turning point in their relationship as teammates.
HOWEVER.
They get more and more awkward around each other because yeah they keep hooking up but they don't talk about it. Because talking about it would probably complicate the very tense season. But also neither wants to stop hooking up.
And that's all I got for now
We need to really explore the Ferrari vs Mclaren of it all, the way two guys who really do get along would deal under pressure from their rival teams AND on the same team and how that smashes them together.
Considering Lucis is heavily inspired by Tokyo, I’m kind of curious what traditional wedding practices in Lucis would have been like, back before Niflheim said that most of the continent was now their property, even if technically it was still ruled over by the Lucis Caelum’s.
I like the idea of traditional Lucian wedding being layered similar to traditional Japanese wedding kimonos, with motifs similar to armor (if it weren’t actually literally armor of some sort), and for the royal family specifically it would be similar to Bahamut’s wings, like a cloak of feather’s shaped like swords.
Probably actual literal swords, knowing the LC’s, actually. Oooh, elemental swords - like, you make to cloak to display mastery over powers of elemancy.
I have like a whole post I’m still trying to put together about traditional kimonos worn by Japanese brides, and although unrelated to FFXV in anyway, it was honestly what got me thinking about what sort of fashion Lucis would have worn in previous eras, back before the modern day.
Also, I like the idea of the royal family have a smaller, traditional ceremony away from prying cameras and eyes, because as soon as television and radio was invented, royal weddings had to have been telegraphed.
Like Noct’s and Lunafreya’s official wedding would have been heavily spread across the entirety of Eos, and then they have a smaller and more private devotional ceremony - I don’t know, the idea just struck me as cute.
Which now makes me curious on Niflheim clothing traditions, considering Iedolas’s robes and so on.
Thinking about what level of misogyny existed in Lucis, from ancient times to modern, because it has to on some level.
Where The Rogue is listed in the Bestiary, it is directly stated:
“Having lost her father and older brother to daemons, the Rogue was left with no family and no choice but to ascend the throne and rule in their stead. At the time, however, the thought of a woman ruling the kingdom was preposterous to some”.
Predominantly, this indicates that Lucis was a patriarchal society, at least prior to Crepera’s reign (she may have changed laws from the firstborn male to the first born child as a whole, and we have no way of knowing how well the upper echelons of Lucian society took that at the time).
(In contrast, Tenebrae is very much a matriarchal society in my head, considering the lauded position of Oracle to the Gods, and that the three canon oracles we know of are female).
That…also makes me wonder about the different levels of education pertaining to one’s gender in Lucis, even an unknown number of decades/centuries down the line.
I wonder what the National Flower of Lucis would be. I want it to be something similar to a spider lily, honestly. Or chrysanthemums.
Something something symbolism, something something pretty. They’d have black and gold variants, and then silverywhite, probably meant for mourning.
I say silvery white because white is one of Tenebrae’s National colors, and that would probably be possibly insulting? Or maybe black and silver…
Or it could be a sort of flower that grows on vines, similar to the design of Regis’ crown? Thorny vines and flowers are an Aesthetic.
Ooh, now I’m picturing crowns with thorns and flowers, and the base is all vine-like. That would be pretty. And probably hurt a lot if you were hit with it. Wearable and weaponizable.
That’s probably not a word, but I’ll use it anyway.
