I was lucky enough to receive this picture book early, and when it arrived I immediately had my first read through. I was so drawn to the illustrations! The book has a very nice winter aesthetic with snowscapes and warm coats. . The story of the book follows a girl who moves into a new house with her mother, and the girl finds a friend in Shadow, who lives under her bed. The girl plays with him and tries to tell her mother about him, but the mother doesn’t notice. It’s a story about loneliness and depression, presented in a clever and beautiful way.
