Luffy had surgery for a mast cell (skin) tumour on his belly yesterday. He's back home and recovering well, but on a bunch of drugs including a sedative, because it's important that he stay as still and quiet as possible while his wound is healing. Luckily our bathroom renovation has reached the tiling stage, so there's not too much banging and crashing going on.
He's finding the Cone of Shame a bit challenging, and keeps bumping into things, but navigating the water bowl is proving to be hardest. He's taken to just standing next to the water bowl and waiting for us to take off the cone so that he can drink. It's good to have efficient house servants at one's beck and call.
We find out in the next couple of weeks just how aggressive this thing was, and whether he will need any follow-up treatment. We're crossing our fingers and toes and hoping like hell.
